Pokemon Scarlet & Violet: All You Need To Know About Area Zero’s Hidden Treasure
We tell you everything we know about ‘The Turquoise Mask’ and ‘The Indigo Disc’, the two DLCs that will arrive this year and that make up the expansion pass for ‘The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero’. The expansion pass of Pokémon Sword and Shield, which is made up of two DLCs called The Isle of Armor and The Snows of the Crown, was a success among those players who missed more content after overcoming the main story of the game. base. Both expansions transported trainers to completely new locations that allowed them to capture new creatures, including never-before-seen forms of legendary Pokémon that are already mythical in the series, as well as battle new trainers, explore new open environments, interact with new characters, participate in exciting Dinamax Raids, among many other activities that greatly enriched the experience.
As we said, both The Isle of Armor and The Snows of the Crown managed to satisfy the desire of users to expand their adventure in Galar, to the point that many consider that the expansion pass is even superior to the content offered by the base game. That is why The Pokémon Company and Game Freak have decided to repeat the play in Pokémon Pokémon Scarlet & Violet with The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, the name with which the expansion pass has been baptized, which, like the previous one, will be paid (€34.99) and will come together with two expansions: The turquoise mask, which is scheduled to be released in the fall of this year, and El disco indigo, which will arrive at some point yet to be determined in winter.
Beyond the history that we live in Paldea
In the same way as the two expansions for Pokémon Sword and Shield, The Treasure of Area Zero promises players to travel beyond the Paldea region to venture into new areas, experience new stories, meet new characters and capture familiar creatures. from other regions, but that we didn’t see in the main region. Regarding the latter, those responsible have already confirmed that more than 230 pocket monsters will be added that were not present in the base game., among which we find Milotic, Ninetales, Metagross, Yanma, Zebstrika or Seel, among many others. As usual, both Scarlet and Violet will feature exclusive species; for example, Gligar will only appear as a wild Pokémon in Scarlet, while only Violet players will be able to get hold of Aipom.
Part I: The Turquoise Mask
“Participate in a school excursion that takes place every year and that will take you together with students from another school to the peaceful region of Noroteo, whose inhabitants live at the foot of imposing mountains. Put on a traditional jinbei, make friends with new characters and Pokémon, and unravel the mysteries surrounding the traditional stories of these lands. Meet Okidogi, Munkidori and Fezandipiti, three Pokémon revered as heroes by the locals who protected Noroteo in the past, as well as Ogerpon, a legendary wielder of a terrifying mask!” reads the DLC description.
Noroteo annually celebrates a festival in this season called the Festival of Masks, which is why the town and its surroundings are full of vendors and flea market stalls selling caramel apples, noodles, and decorative accessories. In addition, it is a place of calm plains, with rice fields and apple orchards.
In Noroteo we will discover Villa Versui, a tourist hostel where the inhabitants can meet to chat and that will serve as our base of operations during our trip. Near the Villa Versui, we can find a store that sells toys and magazines, and the Parque de los companions, a place where the statues of the new trio of Pokémon are located. As if that were not enough, on the outskirts we can enjoy impressive views of the agricultural landscapes and rice fields.
From left to right, in the image you can see Munkidori, Okidogi and Fezandipiti. As we have previously highlighted, they are Pokémon very loved by the inhabitants of Noroteo, since they are considered the heroes who helped protect the region. This trio of Pokémon will have a joint ability: Toxic Chain, whose description says that “when one of these Pokémon launches a movement that reaches an opponent, the power of the chain it carries can seriously poison it.” Likewise, just below these lines, we leave you with an official art of Ogerpon, a legendary Pokémon about which we hardly know any information so far:
Corin (left) and Cass (right) are a pair of brothers who will appear in both The Turquoise Mask and The Indigo Disc, although their place of residence is Noroteo. Corin, the older sister, has a difficult character, is somewhat cold, does not get along too well with trainers who come from other regions and could even be considered selfish, although she goes out of her way for her younger brother, who is described as a calm and gentle.
Part II: The Indigo Disk
“Travel to the newly opened Blueberry Academy, put on your uniform, and enjoy life as an exchange student at this quirky institution, which is located mostly underwater and specializes in Pokémon battles. Find out too! to the legendary Pokémon Terapagos, which glows with its brilliant aura!”, we can read.
In The Indigo Disc, we will visit the Biodome, a very peculiar underwater park that has a series of artificial ecosystems with the ideal conditions for Pokémon to live in. The Biodome is made up of four areas, each with a unique climate and ecosystem to house different species with specific needs to ensure their survival. The sky that is projected on the roof adapts to the time of day and the weather, and the temperature of each area is regulated.
Therapagos, a creature that glows thanks to its glowing aura, is the main Legendary Pokémon in the second DLC.
Mirtilo (left), founder and director of the Arándano Academy, and Aroa (right), a young student, are two main characters that we will meet in El disco indigo. According to the official descriptions, Mirtilo “travelled to Paldea” to invite us to attend his school as an exchange student after hearing rumours about our exploits in Galar, while Aroa is a second-year student who will be our guide during our stay.
