Top And Worst Five Most Challenging Missions Of All Time In The GTA Series

8 months ago By AI Smith

The action-adventure Grand Theft Auto video game franchise was created by British development studio Rockstar North (previously DMA Design) and released by Rockstar Games, an American corporation.

The game’s open environment allows the player to take part in a variety of side activities and perform quests that advance the plot. With sporadic role-playing and stealth aspects, driving and shooting make up the majority of the action. There are also hints of the early 16-bit beat’em up games in the series. Grand Theft Auto video games are set in fictitious locations that are modeled after actual cities and take place at different moments in time, ranging from the early 1960s to the 2010s. The geography of the first game had three cities: Vice City (modeled after Miami), San Andreas (modeled after San Francisco), and Liberty City (modeled after New York City). However, subsequent games usually concentrate on one location and enlarge upon the first three. Every game in the series has a distinct protagonist who, for a variety of reasons, including treachery, tries to make his way through the criminal underground.

Police are aware of criminal activity in Grand Theft Auto video games. When a player participates in these illicit in-game actions, they might level up—a “wanted level” can have as many as five or six stars. A minor offense, like running over a non-player character, may result in a desired level of one star, whereas shooting an officer could result in more stars. The volume and intensity of the reaction will rise with the number of stars; at five or six stars, the player may be pursued by tanks and attack helicopters, whilst at one star, the player may just be chased by a few police vehicles. After finishing an event in many in-game missions, the player is automatically awarded a desired level that they must subsequently remove in order to finish the mission.

Throughout the series, players go through a number of tasks, some of which have a reputation for being some of the most challenging and difficult tasks in the entire series. As we await the new Grand Theft Auto 6, here is a look at the top five hardest missions in the GTA series of all time.

The GTA Series’ Top Five Difficult Missions, Ranked

  1. The Driver: Grand Theft Auto Vice City

Possibly dubbed after Driver, this is as challenging as everything the PS1 classic has to offer, matching Tommy up against a speed addict in a hurriedly planned street race. The issue is that you’re operating a standard Sentinel and he’s in a Sabre Turbo.

Additionally, his automobile is explosive, fire, and bulletproof, so using devious methods is out of the question. Your best shot is to cross your fingers and hope that he drives himself off the road and into a lamppost. To cross the line on this one, you definitely need a lot of willpower and petrol.

Tommy’s need to hire a man he can easily beat in a race seems illogical. It’s also a strange battle because Tommy is meant to follow Hilary, who is wearing a Sabre, on a Sentinel. This would be the mission from the Grand Theft Auto series that gamers would most likely skip.

  1. Keep Your Friends Close (Grand Theft Auto: Vice City)

It’s excruciatingly hard, just like any good last mission, and you might wish you had spared Lance sooner because he’s the worst pain in the game. It turns out that he works for Sonny Forelli, who has come from Liberty City to collect your money. After an unsuccessful but entertaining attempt to trick him with fake money, his guys run for the safe.

That’s easily thwarted, but the real trouble starts when you’re following Lance to the top and the Vercetti Mansion’s passageways turn into a maze of gunfire. Nevertheless, now that Lance is gone, it’s just a quick journey downstairs to take care of Sonny, the cunning mafia leader in charge of most of the game’s awful events, and boy, does that feel good.

Hold your shotgun close at hand and your pals close at hand.

  1. The Exchange (Grand Theft Auto III)

The title sounds like a grand conclusion, and that’s precisely what it is: a last task that is just little more tough than Vice City’s. Claude’s ally has been abducted by Catalina, the boss of a Colombian cartel and the major enemy in the story—not to mention Catalina’s ex-girlfriend—who is holding her captive at the evocatively called Cartel Mansion. Even when Claude pays the $500,000 ransom, Catalina breaks her word and proceeds to murder him because, well, why not?

After escaping a precarious situation, Claude follows her to a dam where a plethora of challenges await, such as kamikaze vehicles and a strafing helicopter flown by none other than Catalina.

Fortunately, there is a happy ending, although it may require the exchange of several lives, or even hours.

  1. Demolition Man (Grand Theft Auto: Vice City)

Although flying levels account for less than 20% of Grand Theft Auto’s total missions, they easily account for 20% of the game’s suffering, and considering how early they are, they have all the complexity of a later level. Tommy’s mission is to use an RC helicopter to destroy the building site from the inside because Avery Carrington, the land-grabbing property tycoon, wants it leveled.

Within the allotted seven minutes, each of the four explosives needs to be independently lifted and flown to a different location on the site. As if that weren’t difficult enough, operating the RC helicopter is difficult to say the least, and in the meantime, irate construction site workers are attempting to fire or knock it down. They have jobs to do, don’t they?

Arguably the most frustrating task in the entire series is Demolition Man. Within seven minutes, you have to plant four explosives at four distinct construction site locations while evading construction workers and security personnel. While this task is very easy on mobile devices, it becomes the hardest in the history of Grand Theft Auto games when played on PCs and consoles.

  1. Wrong Side of the Tracks (Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas)

Wrong Side of the Track seems kind of iconic, at least in principle. The most infamous kingpins in San Andreas, CJ and Big Smoke, rode bikes next to a moving train and tried to shoot other gang members. The player quickly discovers that the quest itself is everything but enjoyable.

It doesn’t help that the enemy gang members appear to be made of steel, very adept and seemingly unbeatable, and that Big Smoke is a complete failure on this mission, failing to strike a target even ten inches from his nose.

The bike’s absurdly simple tendency to fall over on the uneven ground and inclines that surround the tracks is the first issue. Furthermore, Smoke isn’t the world’s greatest or fastest shooter, which makes this Grand Theft Auto mission the most infamous one available.

You will truly go insane from that.
