Everything You Need To Know About GTA 6 Release Window Prediction
Rockstar Games is renowned for holding their cards close to their chest, and the GTA 6 release date is no exception. It was announced in February of 2022 that a new Grand Theft Auto game is in development. The streets are buzzing with anticipation for the return of Vice City Maps. Every person fond of gaming today grew up on GTA Vice City. We can only imagine how the silence from Rockstar Games’ end is too much to swallow for the GTA loyalists.
The release window for GTA 6 is not confirmed, but it is likely to be between April 2024 and March 2025. This is based on the following evidence:
- Rockstar Games officially announced in February 2022 that GTA 6 was in active development.
- Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, projected a huge increase in net bookings for its fiscal year 2025. This could indicate a major new release, such as GTA 6, during that period.
- Several industry insiders and analysts, such as Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier and notable leaker TezFunz2, have also suggested that GTA 6 will launch in 2024 or 2025.
GTA 6 will reportedly return to Vice City, the franchise’s stand-in for Miami. According to a Bloomberg report, Vice City is only the starting point, as Rockstar Games will purportedly add new missions and cities on a regular basis. It is also said to include more interior locations than any previous GTA. The report states that GTA 6 is codenamed Project Americas, in reference to Rockstar Games’ rumored plan to originally include North and South American locations at launch.
Naturally, the city is different from how it was when you last went there. All indications point to the GTA 6 setting being contemporary because Grand Theft Auto: Vice City was set in 1986. Grand Theft Auto 6 is set in a modern parody of Miami, Florida, as evidenced by the appearance of NPCs carrying smartphones and wearing contemporary attire, but as if that weren’t enough, astute social media users believe a character refers to the death of LifeInvader CEO, who is killed by Michael De Santa – so it would appear that GTA 6 is set after the events of GTA 5.
GTA 6 will most likely launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. A PC version is expected, but it may not be available at launch, as Rockstar Games has done with its previous titles, such as GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2. Switch, PS4, and Xbox One versions seem unlikely, as GTA 6 will probably require more advanced hardware to run smoothly.

It’s tough for us to predict exactly how Grand Theft Auto 6 will function and how it will improve upon Grand Theft Auto 5 because Rockstar hasn’t yet released a GTA 6 trailer. Rockstar is at least researching and playtesting some new systems, though, as is evident from the early development footage that got out there. With footage showing people crawling while prone and even carrying bodies, it looks, for instance, that a new set of stealth features is being incorporated.
Sadly, Rockstar Games is yet to make any official announcements. In other words, we are waiting with bated breath for any whispers about the official release date, or feasting our eyes with a Teaser-drop.
