Top 8 Nintendo Unremembered Sagas That Need To Be Back In Action

9 months ago By AI Smith

Nintendo Switch has welcomed the return of several Nintendo sagas that had not received new instalments for a long time. Although Nintendo is still reluctant to recover some of them.

Nintendo has fulfilled the wet dream of many players by recovering on Nintendo Switch some of its most emblematic sagas that had been waiting a long time for a return in style. We are talking, for example, about Metroid, which has returned in style with Metroid Dead and Metroid Prime Remastered, as well as WarioWare, which debuted on the hybrid console with WarioWare: Get It Together! and will soon be expanded with WarioWare: Move It!, or Super Mario RPG, which will receive a remake with a major visual makeover on November 17.

Even with everything, some Nintendo Switch users have not been entirely satisfied with the number of classic series that Nintendo has recovered in this last generation. Taking into account that the company has been talking openly about its next video game system for a few weeks, something that makes us suspect that its announcement should be just around the corner, here we have decided to review those sagas that have not resurfaced. on Nintendo Switch and that, this time, they could have a second chance on the next Big N console.

F-Zero

F-Zero is, without a doubt, one of the most important arcade racing sagas in the entire history of video games. This is a saga that, since its first instalment, has offered players high-intensity races at breakneck speeds in which their reflexes are put to the test like no other title in the genre. Unfortunately, F-Zero has not returned on Nintendo Switch with a new instalment that takes advantage of the technology and unique capabilities of the hybrid console hardware, something that many expected like rain in May and that, probably, is due to the overwhelming success of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. In any case, we hope that Nintendo will consider bringing the franchise back shortly, as we believe its gameplay is different enough from Mario Kart to shine on its own and find its audience.

Golden Sun

The three instalments of the Golden Sun saga developed by Camelot hit such a deep chord among Japanese role-playing lovers that there are not a few players who demand their return, especially in a current era in which multiple games are being launched on the market that tries to replicate the visual charm and gameplay of the great classics of the genre. In these times, we see a fourth Golden Sun very plausible that maintains the spirit of the original trilogy and that uses a style similar to the HD-2D that we have seen in Octopath Traveler, Triangle Strategy, LIVE A LIVE and other highly acclaimed recent works to appeal to both long-time fans and new audiences.

Punch-Out!

Just when fighting game fans thought Nintendo would bring back the Punch-Out!! After the premiere of ARMS, a title that, like the first releases of Nintendo Switch, served as a kind of letter of introduction to the benefits of Joy-Con, the company has not ended up fulfilling their wishes. Punch-Out!! received its latest instalment on Nintendo Wii and it seems like a wasted opportunity that Nintendo has not applied everything learned in ARMS to move it to an entirely new title in the series that features the legendary Little Mac. However, we want to believe that if the demand is enough or the successor to Switch needs a powerful fighting game in its catalogue, Nintendo will turn again to Punch-Out.

Rhythm Paradise

Nintendo has nurtured the Nintendo Switch catalogue with a good selection of titles focused on minigames to enjoy in the company, while we can also find multiple proposals from third parties. That is why we believe that Rhythm Paradise, a saga that received its latest instalment on Nintendo 3DS, could find a place without too many problems in the catalogue of the next Nintendo console. We would ask for a new instalment to maintain the visual style and the particular sense of humour that the titles of the series have, all accompanied by a catchy soundtrack, support for several simultaneous players in local mode and dozens of mini-games full of rhythm. to put our skills and ear to the test.

Kid Icarus

Masahiro Sakurai and his team did an outstanding job bringing the Kid Icarus saga back to Nintendo 3DS with Kid Icarus: Uprising, an instalment so highly satisfying in its gameplay and overall good that, for many, it’s one of the absolute gems of Nintendo. the portable console. Following the unanimous reception of UprisingThere were not a few users who thought that Nintendo would take advantage of the pull of the license to expand it with new games designed for Nintendo Switch, but time has ended up taking away their reason. The truth is that we find it somewhat incomprehensible that Nintendo has missed this opportunity, but we want to remain optimistic for the future. Perhaps, the next game should go for an approach more similar to the first part of the NES, combining action and platforming, instead of focusing only on shooting and frantic fights against enemies.

Mother

The Mother saga has always been characterized as one of Nintendo’s strangest and most disconcerting, with Earthbound, its second part, being the most popular of all. We believe that it is a difficult saga to bring to modern times, especially because of how daring some scenes that could perfectly serve as materials for a nightmare were, even for their time, but at the same time we consider that it has so much personality and that it is so unique. in its kind that it is a real shame that it is so abandoned by Nintendo. We do not know if Shigesato Itoi, its creator, would be willing to return to work on a new MotherAlthough in case he didn’t decide to participate we can’t think of a better replacement than Toby Fox, father of Undertale.

Star Fox

Of all the sagas that we mention in this article, Star Fox is the one that has been missing for the last time, since its last instalment debuted on Nintendo Wii U back in 2016. Yes, we are aware that the daring gameplay of Star Fox Zero divided the fans. fans and that it did not win the favour of specialized critics, although this does not mean that we believe that Nintendo should stop betting on Star Fox.

Perhaps the path that the company should follow is to return to the roots of the series and put aside the experiments that try to exploit the technical capabilities of its consoles, or even give a little twist to the mechanics that Zero proposed. Be that as it may, nothing would make us happier than the troop commanded by the charismatic Fox McCloud to return sooner rather than later with new and exciting space adventures.

Wario Land

As we said at the beginning, the WarioWare saga has returned in style on Nintendo Switch, although we still have a thorn in it with Wario Land, a series that skilfully combines platforms with action to give rise to a cocktail of irresistible fun and that offers gameplay It doesn’t look like Super Mario at all. We understand Nintendo’s decision to prioritize WarioWare on Nintendo Switch because the Joy-Con gives a lot of games thanks to its unique capabilities, but we don’t think Wario Land deserves to be preserved for much longer. Now that similar proposals inspired by Wario Land as the little amazing Pizza Tower have been a complete success, this could be the best time for the plumber’s rival to surprise us again with a new 2D adventure.
