The highly anticipated television anime adaptation of Kuji Furumiya’s Unnamed Memory light novel series, originally slated for release this year, has been delayed to 2024 due to unforeseen production circumstances. Fans will have to exercise a little more patience before they can immerse themselves in the captivating world of Unnamed Memory. On the bright side, there is good news coming.

New Promotional Video and Visual to be Revealed

During the upcoming “Dengeki Bunko 30th Natsu no Saiten Online 2023 powered by ABEMA” event on July 16, fans can expect a special treat. The event will unveil a brand-new promotional video and visual for the anime, offering a glimpse into the stunning visuals and captivating story that await viewers in 2024.

Talented Team Behind the Anime

Under the expert direction of Kazuya Miura, known for his work on “Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs” and “Kan Colle Season 2: Let’s Meet at Sea,” the anime adaptation of Unnamed Memory is in good hands. Deko Akao, acclaimed for her work on “Komi Can’t Communicate,” “Noragami,” and “The Case Study of Vanitas,” is responsible for series composition, ensuring a compelling narrative unfolds. Chika Nōmi, known for adapting chibi’s original character designs for animation in “Kan Colle Season 2: Let’s Meet at Sea” and “Kemono Michi: Rise Up,” will bring the characters of Unnamed Memory to life on the screen. Adding to the allure of the captivating visuals is the entrancing musical score meticulously crafted by the talented Akito Matsuda, renowned for their exceptional compositions in celebrated anime titles like “Sound! Euphonium” and “Liz and the Blue Bird.”

Synopsis and Characters

The Unnamed Memory anime will feature Yoshiki Nakajima as Oscar and Atsumi Tanezaki as Tinasha, the lead characters in this captivating tale. The story revolves around Oscar, the crown prince of the powerful kingdom of Farsas, who was cursed in his youth to never be able to father an heir. Desperate to break the curse, he embarks on a quest to find Tinasha, the continent’s strongest witch. Legend has it that Tinasha resides at the top of a tower and grants the wish of anyone who successfully reaches her. However, when Oscar finally reaches the pinnacle of the tower, he shocks everyone with an unexpected request—he asks Tinasha to become his bride!

Light Novel and Manga Adaptation

For fans eager to delve deeper into the enchanting world of Unnamed Memory, Yen Press has released both the light novel series and its manga adaptation in English. The light novel series, featuring illustrations by chibi, was originally serialized on the “Shōsetsuka ni Narō” website in September 2012, and Kadokawa published the novels in print starting from January 2019. In the 2020 edition of Takarajimasha’s Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! (This Light Novel Is Amazing!) guidebook, Unnamed Memory ranked #1, cementing its status as a must-read for fans of the genre. The manga adaptation, illustrated by Naoki Koshimizu, made its debut in Kadokawa’s Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh magazine in September 2020.
