Multiple Reasons Why GTA Is The GOAT Game Of All Time?

7 months ago By AI Smith

Grand Theft Auto (GTA) changed the gaming business and the way open-world games would be for all time more than 20 years ago when it first released. Nevertheless, despite its widespread appeal, there are a few aspects about the extensive game series that you probably didn’t know.

Why GTA Is The GOAT Game Of All Time?

1. Grand Theft Auto is just one big glitch

There might not have ever been a GTA game if it weren’t for a code error. Earlier than Rockstar North, there was a gaming company called DMA Design. They were developing a game called Race n Chase in the late 1990s where players may choose to be either a cop or a criminal in a face-off. A bug in the coding, however, made the police vehicles exceedingly aggressive when pursuing offenders, even attempting to ram them off the road.

The studio decided to keep this feature in despite the fact that playing as a police officer was ultimately removed because it proved to be so well-liked by testers. The name was then changed to Grand Theft Auto and a genre-defining series was born

2. Rockstar used scaring techniques to sell more copies

One of the more shocking revelations that came to light years later was that Rockstar paid controversial PR consultant Max Clifford to smear GTA’s debut release in UK tabloids by planting rumors about how “violent” it was. This ultimately resulted in politicians getting involved, which ignited the GTA’s contentious history and (as the company anticipated) gained the game attention and increased sales. And that pattern has persisted over the years for pretty much every game release.

3. GTA games are almost always late to market

Rockstar actually has a dismal track record when it comes to timely launches, despite the number of games in the GTA series that have been released. Every single one of the five core games has been significantly postponed since GTA III. Because to the necessity of making material revisions following the September 11 attacks, GTA III was three weeks behind schedule. Rockstar required another six months to polish GTA IV, which is why it was delayed. In the meantime, GTA V was also delayed for several months for finishing touches. If there is a GTA VI, perhaps they’ll learn their lesson.

4. It’s a kid-free zone

One thing you may have noticed while playing is that there are never any kids in any of the Grand Theft Auto games. They were reportedly included in the GTA III beta, but the developer saw fit to remove them. What kind of reaction would there have been if you could have killed children in your street rampages in a game that is already recognized as violent, after all? In reality, there are only two characters you come across in the entire series—a infant in Vice City Stories and a 13-year-old heiress in GTA IV.

5. The Moon in GTA

The Moon initially appeared in GTA III, the first game in the series to be played in 3D rather of 2D, and ever since then, it has had a unique easter egg (an easter egg is a secret feature in a game that is purely for fun). The moon becomes bigger right away whenever you fire a sniper rifle at it. Every time you shoot it, this occurs more and more times until it ultimately returns to its former size.

6. Rockstar loves easter egg jokes

Rockstar decided to make the easter eggs in GTA Vice City more adorable. One of them was a real-life chocolate easter egg that was perched on the roof of an unremarkable structure that seemed impossible to scale. We have no doubt that when they discovered that one, they laughed a lot.

7. GTA San Andreas made fun of you if you were overweight.

Your level of fitness is a fairly important factor in GTA San Andreas. Your stamina is lower and you can’t run as quickly if you’re overweight from overindulging at neighborhood eateries. But there was also another hat tip from the coder. The jetpack would need more power to lift the overweight protagonist CJ, hence any missions he attempts with the jetpack won’t start.

8. You could have horrible pixelated sex in GTA

When GTA San Andreas was released, it had a sex appeal element that, if you were high enough, allowed you to snag a date. To max it out, there didn’t seem to be any meaningful advantage, at least not until modders broke into the game’s source code. They discovered leftover code for the “Hot Coffee” function there and realized it was a sex minigame where you could invite a date to your home and have dirty fun. It goes without saying that they didn’t spare any time in restoring the code and disseminating the mods, ruining Rockstar’s reputation worldwide. We doubt that any players knowingly downloaded the “Cold Coffee” update, which the developer ultimately had to use to correct the code.

9. Some people appear to have GTA in their blood literally.

Young Maylay, the cousin of CJ Johnson’s voice actor in GTA: San Andreas, who plays Franklin in GTA V, is Shawn Fonteno’s real-life cousin. By chance, Los Santos serves as the setting for both games.

10. In the heart of Liberty City, there is a living monster.

A Statue of Happiness, a facsimile of the Statue of Liberty, may be found in Grand Theft Auto IV. But thanks to Rockstar, it has a little spooky footnote. The monument actually contains a huge, horrifying, beating heart, which you can see if you climb inside.

11. GTA V is the biggest chartbuster of all time

GTA V broke sales records when game first came out, earning $800 million worldwide in just 24 hours, which works out to roughly 11.21. It has since brought in a staggering $6 billion for Rockstar Games, making it the most lucrative entertainment product of all time.

12. You’re not by yourself in Los Santos.

You are instructed to cross the railroad tracks in the GTA V introductory scenario with Trevor, Brad, and Michael. A different great easter egg can be found if you turn right and walk beneath the nearby bridge in place of that. Under the river, there is an alien locked in place.

13. What is the common denominator between a cowboy and a modern-day thief?

The book “red Dead” is located on the very right shelf in Franklin’s living room in GTA V. The obvious allusion is to Red Dead Redemption, another Rockstar game from 2010. The author is identified as J Marston, most likely the son of the protagonist John Marston, who has expressed his love of reading and expressed a desire to write a book in the future.

14. Keeping things as simple as possible

The eccentric character Trevor Phillips frequently appears in GTA V wearing nothing but his undies. He also reportedly frequently recorded his lines in just his underwear, according to voice actor Steven Ogg, who claimed that this practice helped him stay in character.
