2 months ago By Aaron Whittakar

If you play Pokemon Go or have seen your  friends play, you must have noticed Pokémon Go players often saying “anr” before a raid. But do you know what it exactly means? What exactly is anr in Pokemon Go, and how does it relate to raids?

What is ‘ANR’ in Pokemon Go?

Raids in Pokemon Go game make the game more fun and interesting. Be it looking for a challenge, farming items, or hoping to fill out a new entry in your Pokédex, these raids offer great rewards and the opportunity to take on with fellow players.

It is often difficult to find people to raid with. The PokeRaid app helps players  search for fellow players to raid with and conduct Remote Raids. This app offers the convenience of making other players aware when raids are available wherein they serve as a platform for players to communicate and coordinate to get the raid started.

Thus while using this app and communicating with fellow players, some slangs are used for easier and faster communication. These are like code words used for communication on PokeRaid app. One of them is ‘anr’

What is ‘anr’ in PokeRaid for Pokémon Go?

In Pokémon Go game, anr is the acronym used for “added and ready.” Whenever a player uses this code in the PokeRaid app, it implies that they have added the friend code of the host and that they’re ready to raid. It is a signal given by the friend to the host that he/she ready for the raid. When every player present in the lobby says “anr,” the host understands everyone is ready and they can start the raid.

‘Anr’ in Pokemon Go is just a communication code used to ensure everyone is on the same page before challenging the raid. These communication codes are very important especially when participating in remote raids.
