Fortnite OG which released in the first week of November took the gamers’ world by storm. This battle royale which is among the longest running games gave players a strong dose of nostalgia with its latest season called Fortnite OG. This one brings back the battle royale game’s original map for the upcoming month.

Gamers have been waiting early for the latest season and going by the looks of it Epic Games has not disappointed. The gaming brand stated that over 44 Million players showed up for the Fortnite OG season.

With all the reminiscing and dropping back into Tilted Towers or even drinking Chug Jug, Fortnite OG made many realize how far the game’s journey has come over the years.

Coming to the original map, it is a pretty significant deal for the game. Fortnite is a game which speeds up consistently and moves ahead without turning back once also. Prior to the Fortnite OG season, the game’s map featured a stretched out cyberpunk city which had skyscraper-size holograms, vampire strongholds you could loot to gain top-tier weapons and dense jungle with temples if exploring was your thing. Gamers could go around the island in a motorcycle or race or go around the back of a raptor. Fortnite OG on the other hand is much easier, simpler and no nonsense material. The island is green to a large extent, with a small patch made of desert and another part which is icy to balance the landscape.

Players can go for a ride in a golf cart. Apart from the landscape of the Haunted Hills, nothing in particular feels weird in any way. This could be the reason why all of the bizarre live events were standing out to a great extent when they happened for the first time.

As per what is written and said about Fortnite OG, it is only going to stay for four weeks. This time period seems enough to dive deep in nostalgia before the gamers start wanting more and something new. Epic Games will reportedly reintroduce classic elements every week during that time span. If nothing out of the world, Fortnite OG has given a much-needed push or a wake up call for Fortnite not just for the gamers but even the makers of the battle royale game. This is especially true given the rising cost, the layoffs, key exits, and a heightened focus on the non-battle royale aspects of the Fortnite universe.

Playing the blockbusters from Fortnite’s glorious past does not change much. But we are living in a time when old is new and gold again. It’s pleasant to look back on how this game was even if that joy lasts only for a while. Fortnite OG concludes on 2nd December, with players getting flavours from multiple seasons starting with season 5.
