One of the biggest esports championships in South Asia, Skyesports Championship 5.0 have begun and esports enthusiasts in India are excited to say the least. In the Championship, teams will be competing in Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) for a whopping prize pool over the course of several days. The event is open to teams from all the various regions of the country. To begin with, the event will start with the qualifier rounds where teams will compete to secure a spot in the finals of the Skyesports Championship.

Details of the Skyesports Championship 5.0
Qualifiers for the Skyesports Championship 5.0 has begun and teams will be dishing out their best CS2 skills to secure a spot in the finals. The main event of the championship will be held on 1st December 2023. In India, the top four teams will compete in Mumbai for international glory.
Format
Skyesports Championship 2023 will have an intense bout between the top four CS2 organizations. Out of these four teams, one of them will be an invited organization. The other three will qualify after qualifying in the regional events. Once the top four team are finalized, they will then compete in the double-elimination bracket in order to decide the event’s winner. All of these matches will follow a Bo3 (best of three format).
Teams
So far, only the European Qualifiers have been completed. As of now, here are the four teams that will compete in the upcoming Skyesports Championship 2023 Main Event:
- OG (Invited)
- Aurora Gaming (European Qualifiers)
- TBD (Indian Qualifiers)
- TBD (UAE Qualifiers)
In the European Qualifiers, Aurora Gaming which is a Serbian CS2 organization defeated notable teams like Navi Junior, TSM, and B8. The European Qualifiers were held from 23rd to 26th October 2023. Aurora Gaming is now among the top four teams that will head to the Main Event on 1st December 2023.
For the invited team, Skyesports have revealed that team OG has been selected as one of the top four teams. OG, Aurora Gaming, along with the winners from UAE and Indian qualifiers will be competing in the Main Event. These teams will be flying to Mumbai, India to compete in the finals.
Venue
The Main Event of the Skyesports Championship 5.0 will be held in Mumbai, India as a LAN tournament in front of a live audience. The exact venue of the event will be revealed later along with all the ticket information and other details.
However, if you’re wondering whether you will need to store up huge amounts of cash to watch the event live, then you’re in luck. Skyesports announced that venue tickets will be available free of charge. While this may be good news for those who are eager to watch the event live, the number of tickets will be limited and will be available on a first come basis.
Prize Pool
Waiting at the finish line is the Skyesports Championship prize pool worth a whopping $100,000 which is approximately ₹83 Lakhs. The team that sits on the victor’s seat will win the lion’s share of the prize pool worth $50,000. The team in second place will get $30,000, the third place finishers will receive $13,000, while the fourth place will get $6,000. In addition, the event’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) will be given a reward of $1,000.

Schedule and Live Results
As the European Qualifiers have now ended, it is now time for the next two regions of UAE and India to host their respective qualifiers. The two remaining qualifiers will take place one after another. Here is the schedule for the upcoming Skyesports Championship Qualifiers:
- UAE Qualifier – The qualifiers for the UAE teams will take place from 16th to 19th November 2023.
- India Qualifier – The Indian Qualifiers will take place from 17th to 22nd November 2023.
The moment these two qualifiers have concluded, esports enthusiasts and fans of these teams will be able to watch the final stage of the tournament. The finals will start with the Playoffs stage which will take place on 1st December 2023. After this, the Grand Final of the Skyesports Championship 5,0 will be held on 3rd December 2023.
