The One Piece anime follows the heroic journey of Monkey D. Luffy, a pirate who won’t let anything or anyone go in the way of his ambition to rule the pirates. He needs to locate the fabled “One Piece,” the loot left by the former Pirate King Gol D. Roger, in order to accomplish his objective. The Straw Hat Pirates accompany Luffy on his voyage over the perilous waters of the Grand Line.
The ongoing anime adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece manga premiered in 1999. Crunchyroll describes the anime:
Monkey D. Luffy refuses to let anyone or anything stand in the way of his quest to become the king of all pirates. With a course charted for the treacherous waters of the Grand Line and beyond, this is one captain who’ll never give up until he’s claimed the greatest treasure on Earth: the Legendary One Piece!
Another “One Piece Day,” a two-day celebration honoring the anniversary of the release of Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece manga, was conducted by Bandai Namco Entertainment, Shueisha, and Toei Animation. On July 21 and 22, the occasion was held at the Tokyo Big Sight convention center, and a live webcast of it was broadcast worldwide on YouTube.
The Japanese anime television series One Piece, sometimes known as One Piece (stylized all capitals), was created by Toei Animation and debuted on Fuji TV in October 1999. It is based on the same-named manga series by Eiichiro Oda. The plot centers on the exploits of Monkey D. Luffy, a young man whose unintended consumption of a Devil Fruit left him with a body made of rubber. In order to succeed the current Pirate King, Luffy wanders the Grand Line with his crew, the Straw Hat Pirates, in search of the “One Piece,” the world’s greatest treasure.
1,077 episodes have been produced since the show’s Japanese premiere, and they have since been distributed in many other nations.
