Minecraft has a special block known as obsidian. This can be found in all three dimensions of the game. Notably, these block have a few fairly significant characteristics. 

Additionally, they have an almost perfect blast resistance, which makes it difficult to be destroyed by TNT or any other major explosives in Minecraft. 

That also means that these blocks cannot be destroyed by the powerful The Ender Dragon’s attacks as well. Besides, Obsidian’s share a unique interaction with pistons. The  obsidian blocks cannot be pushed or pulled by these pistons or sticky pistons in the game. Notably since obsidian is so hard only pickaxes that are made of diamond or netherite can destroy these blocks.

How to craft Obsidian in Minecraft

Obsidian is simple to craft in the Minecraft game as compared to other objets. Here are the steps:

Firstly you need to Obtain flowing water. This can be easily located at a water source in your Mineraft world. One you do, create a canal to port the water to where the lava is. 

But remember that this needs a lot more labour and is not really important. Another effective method is using a bucket for moving water.

You will need three iron ingots to make one bucket. After making a bucket, right-click on a water source to pick the water up while having a bucket selected. 

Post that, players can simply create flowing water blocks by placing them anywhere they choose. One of the most challenging aspects in making obsidian is locating the lava. Lava is a hazardous liquid block that can be found in a number of locations in and around the overworld. 

Lava pits or pools can also emerge on the surface that are open to the sky. Remember that one of the most ideal places to get early-game obsidian is those surface lava pools. 

They are most likely to be found in desert biome to locate lava due to their flat surface. After locating a lava pool, one can start making an obsidian in Minecraft. 

You can Start by positioning the water source a block away from the edge of the lava pool either vertically or horizontally. Soon the water will begin to flow, covering several lava sources thus eventually transforming them into obsidian.

Once you have produced the obsidians you can start mining these obsidian blocks. Remember that obsidians can only be mined in Minecraft, if you have at least one diamond pickaxe. Besides, this one will take a little more time as compared to the majority of other blocks.
