Batman: Arkham Trilogy Nintendo Switch: Release Date, Game Price, Characters And More

8 months ago By AI Smith

If you have seen the Nintendo Direct yesterday, you probably saw that the Arkham Trilogy consisting of Asylum City & Night is coming to the Switch and even greater news is coming out in the fall. Later this year which is great because it includes not only Batman games. But three great games in general with all DLC included detail noticed as surely many others have that for Arkansas and Arkham City the overall styler designs for those games are based on the original PS3 Xbox 360 release rather than to return to Arkham remastered which is a fan of especially.

Since we prefer to see more detail than the masters maybe some people mail like the Return to Arkham style for what is but not me though. It threw me off because they seem to have some sort of matte or plasticky look to them. Batman’s face looks like the Switch wouldn’t be able to handle the remasters if it’s able to run Arkham Knight and another huge game like Tears of the Kingdom.

Release date:

Batman: Arkham Trilogy arrives on Nintendo Switch in October The Batman: Arkham Trilogy has locked in a firm release date for Nintendo Switch. Batman: Arkham Trilogy, the compilation collecting Asylum, City, and Knight will officially launch for Nintendo Switch on 13 October 2023. The release was first announced in June 2023, with many surprised by its sudden appearance so late in the life cycle of the console. While ports for gaming classics of the 2010s have been common for the Nintendo Switch – Bioshock and Borderlands being the most prominent examples – these releases have slowed to a crawl over time.

Regardless it’s great to see Batman: Arkham Trilogy leaping. Each game included in the collection is essential in its own right. Batman: Arkham Asylum was an incredibly influential title in its era changing the face of licensed superhero games and action games more widely and bringing the world of Batman to life in stunning detail. City opened up the potential of the franchise with a massive open world allowing for a deeper exploration of Batman lore. While Knight was less ground-breaking in its approach it remains a phenomenal game with strong storytelling and character work.

The Batman: Arkham Trilogy bundle for Nintendo Switch includes all three games alongside their original DLC packs which include special cosmetic costumes, missions and several excellent story quests – including ‘Harley Quinn’s Revenge’ from Arkham City. Notably the release of the Batman: Arkham Trilogy collection precedes the unlikely next chapter in Rock Steady’s gritty Arkham world: Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

As confirmed by the studio this upcoming co-op multiplayer title set to launch in February 2024 takes place in the same continuity as the original Arkham games – although with some core tweaks. If you’re looking to get the complete Arkham story ahead of this game’s launch the trilogy collection is the best place to start. You can already grab it on PC and consoles but if you’re looking to play it on the go the Nintendo Switch port provides yet another option. Batman: Arkham Trilogy launches for Nintendo Switch Games on 13 October 2023.

Game Characters:

Batman (Bruce Wayne):

Bruce Wayne better known as Batman is a brooding and complex character driven by a relentless determination to rid Gotham City of crime. As a young boy, he witnessed the murder of his parents, an event that fuelled his lifelong quest for justice. By day, Wayne presents himself as a billionaire playboy, concealing his true identity. By night he becomes the vigilante known as Batman utilizing his intellect, physical prowess and an array of advanced gadgets to combat crime. Batman operates with a strict moral code refraining from taking lives and seeking to rehabilitate his foes when possible. His dark demeanour, unmatched detective skills and willingness to sacrifice himself for the greater good make him a symbol of hope and fear for the citizens of Gotham and an enduring icon in the realm of superheroes.

The Joker (Jack Napier):

The Joker originally known as Jack Napier is a deranged and enigmatic criminal mastermind who stands as Batman’s most iconic adversary. Once a petty criminal and failed comedian, a series of tragic events led to Napier’s transformation into the Joker. Driven by chaos and a warped sense of humour he revels in anarchy and unpredictability.

With his pale skin manic grin and vibrant green hair, the Joker is a visual representation of his madness. He is known for his elaborate schemes that often involve psychological torment and twisted social experiments. The Joker’s relationship with Batman is a complex dance of obsession and rivalry, each representing the other’s polar opposite. The character’s appeal lies in his nihilistic outlook, penchant for mayhem, and ability to challenge even Batman’s unwavering resolve. The Joker remains a compelling embodiment of chaos and darkness within Gotham’s criminal underworld.

Harley Quinn (Harleen Quinzel):

Harley Quinn originally Harleen Quinzel is a complex and multifaceted character in the Batman universe. Once a brilliant psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum she fell under the spell of the Joker while treating him. Succumbing to his manipulation and allure Harleen Quinzel transformed into Harley Quinn the Joker’s devoted and unpredictable accomplice. Her appearance mirrors her fragmented psyche characterized by a playful yet sinister demeanour brightly coloured attire and her signature jester-themed motif.

Despite her criminal activities, Harley’s background as a mental health professional adds depth to her character highlighting the tragic aspects of her relationship with the Joker. Over time Harley Quinn has evolved beyond her role as a sidekick, becoming a complex antihero with moments of introspection and redemption. Her blend of humour, chaos and vulnerability has cemented her as a fan-favourite character exploring themes of identity, abuse and the search for self-discovery.

Harvey Dent:

He better known as Two-Face is a tragic figure within the Batman mythos. Once a crusading district attorney of Gotham City Dent’s life took a dark turn when he was disfigured by a criminal’s attack leading to a fractured psyche. His dual nature is reflected in his appearance: one half of his face is disfigured, while the other remains handsome. Two-Face’s defining characteristic is his obsession with duality and chance. He makes decisions by flipping a coin which symbolizes his struggle between his former noble self and his darker alter ego. Driven by his sense of justice he commits crimes based on the outcome of his coin toss often putting Batman in morally complex situations.

Two-Face’s internal conflict and tragic origin story make him a compelling antagonist. He serves as a reflection of the thin line that separates heroism from villainy and his presence in Gotham’s criminal landscape adds depth and complexity to the city’s rogues’ gallery. Oswald CobblePot, known as the Penguin, is a cunning and sophisticated antagonist in Batman’s rogues’ gallery. With a distinct appearance characterized by his portly figure and formal attire, he represents a unique blend of crime lord and aristocrat. The Penguin often operates as a criminal entrepreneur using his connections and intelligence to navigate Gotham’s underworld.

Unlike many of Batman’s foes, the Penguin lacks superhuman abilities relying instead on his strategic mind resourcefulness and access to an array of umbrellas modified into various weapons. His criminal endeavours often involve smuggling, fencing stolen goods and running nightclubs that serve as fronts for his illicit activities. Despite his criminal nature the Penguin occasionally displays a code of ethics and a fondness for birds which add layers to his character. His complex personality, eccentric style and ability to exploit both the high and low echelons of Gotham society make him a memorable and intriguing villain within Batman’s universe.
