Multiplayer Co-op Modes Available For Modern Warfare 3

1 years ago By AI Smith

The latest entry in the Call of Duty series is the highly-anticipated Modern Warfare 3 (MW3). It is slated to be among the most successful video games from Activision, the publisher of the series. Following the pattern of mainline entries in the franchise that have come before, Modern Warfare 3 will also have an immersive campaign that will include all elements and characters from the previous Modern Warfare 2, which was released in 2022. It is along these lines that many players are curious as to whether there will be a dedicated co-op mode for the MW3 campaign.

Will co-op campaigns be available in MW3?

Given that co-ops have been a familiar feature in recent years across multiple games. This is why, fans were eager to know if that would be available in MW3. However, many were disappointed to learn that the Modern Warfare 3 campaign would not have a co-op mode. While this may not be the news some fans want to hear, it does make sense for MW3 to not include it, as its previous iterations also do not have a co-op mode. This means that Modern Warfare 3 will continue to be a single-player experience where players will continue the story from where they left it in Modern Warfare 2.

It is to be noted that Modern Warfare 3 is not an RPG and its campaigns are mission-focused. This means players are able to play any one character depending on what the game makes you do. Therefore, there is not much scope for a co-op campaign in the first place. However, this does not mean that there is no chance for co-op modes in Call of Duty as Modern Warfare 2 has Spec Ops and raids which are basically co-op experiences. But when it comes to the MW3 campaign, players will have to play it solo from the very start.

Will Spec Ops be in Modern Warfare 3?

While Call of Duty does have multiplayer game modes like Domination, Kill Confirmed, and Search & Destroy, there are many who love playing co-op with their buddies. Special Operations of Spec Ops was first introduced to Call of Duty in 2019 and fans of the co-op mode were excited, to say the least. Spec Ops is a co-op game mode that will put players in war-torn locations with the objective of completing very specific tasks. The objective of the mission tends to change from time to time. Sometimes it can be rescuing a hostage or stealing enemy intel, etc. There can be two players in the Spec Ops mission and each player gets to choose one Kit. Players need to choose Kits that will help the team. While MW2 had this mode, it is still unsure if MW3 will have it as well.

What is the difference between multiplayer and co-op modes?

In multiplayer mode, multiple users can play, mostly competitively with or against each other. In Co-op mode, two to four players are allowed to play and they all have to work together in order to complete the mission or reach a goal.

Now that we’ve gotten that cleared up, let’s take a look at what kind of modes are available in Modern Warfare 3.

Multiplayer co-op modes in MW3

When looking at alternative ways to play the game with your buddies, you can instead check out the multiplayer campaigns available in MW3. There is a bunch of exciting multiplayer options that are available for MW3 players. Let’s take a look at what some of them are.

  • Explore 16 maps from the original versions found in Modern Warfare 2, which are reimagined and remastered for a better experience.
  • Classic game modes like ‘Kill Confirmed’ and ‘Hardpoint’ will be added to the game. This just means more fun for players who like a challenge.
  • You might also even enjoy a tweaked War Mode from Call of Duty: WW2
  • Love fighting the undead? Dive into the open-world Zombies mode which also has PvE elements. Players will be able to form teams in order to take down AI-controlled zombies with a similar progression to that of DMZ mode in Warzone 2.0. This is also paired with a short story segment in the Zombies campaign.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is the next edition in the Call of Duty franchise. The AAA FPS (first-person shooter) title from Activision is a sequel to the 2022 edition Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Being the newest entry in the video game franchise makes MW3 one of the highly anticipated games of the year.

Modern Warfare 3 Rewards

What is Modern Warfare 3 about?

The video game follows Task Force 141 who are given a mission to hunt down Vladimir Makarov, the game’s antagonist. Within the story, players will come across interesting characters like Ghost, Soap, Gaz, Captain Price, and Alejandro.

As the upcoming edition continues where the previous one left off, it creates a cohesive storyline that greatly enhances the player’s experience and the gameplay. Modern Warfare 3 will be released on 10th November 2023 across PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
