Will GTA 6 Be The Most Expensive Game Of All Time?

According to reports, Grand Theft Auto VI is the most expensive game to be ever created, and Rockstar Games intends for its release to change the game industry as a whole.

Rockstar Games has been completely silent, and it’s safe to say that fans are driving themselves crazy with hints, rumors, and conjecture about what we might encounter when it releases. One leaker who posted portions of the game online is actually being prosecuted for their impatience, but a psychiatrist recently declared them unable to face trial.

The key conclusion from all of this rumor has been the game’s size and scope, which will purportedly be among the largest open-worlds ever produced—excluding, of course, games like Starfield. Vice City, one of the most well-known Grand Theft Auto locations, has been alluded to, and sources imply there may be more to do there than ever before, aside from causing the mayhem the series is known for.

New insider information was recently released, which suggested that the development of the game is costing Rockstar a pretty penny. The developer is trying to set a new standard in the games industry with GTA 6. The piece of info was dropped by a hacker, and then shared by the Twitter account by the name @GTAVInewz, which said: “GTA 6 will reportedly cost $2 billion and has been in development since 2014, making it the most expensive entertainment product of all time as Rockstar is determined to set new standards in the industry.”

Given the scale of the game, it wouldn’t be surprising to learn that development of it started many years ago. It is exciting to think that Rockstar intends to utilize the game to redefine open-world gameplay. It’s also supported by Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar, which recently said the designer “seeks perfection” in GTA VI’s design.

The $2 billion development cost may seem excessive, and it is, but with a brand that is so well-known among both fans and critics, there’s no doubt it will make back its money and then some. Grand Theft Auto VI is anticipated to earn $1 billion in its first week alone, and as more GTA Online players move on from Grand Theft Auto V, that figure will only rise.

The sixth installment of the popular game franchise GTA was initia;lly announced by developer Rockstar back in February 2022. Back then they announced that the game is in the developmental stage. Post that there has been no word about the game from the developer. However the rumors and leaks albeit GTA 6 have been increasing by the day. 

There have been rumors about the upcoming game having a female protagonist Lucia along with a male counterpart Jason. It is also believed that the game will release between April 2024 to March 2025. GTA 6 is expected to release on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
