Why Numbers Of Cheaters Are Rising In CS:GO?

1 years ago By AI Smith

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) is one of the most famous online multiplayer first-person shooter games out there. The game demands that players work in teams and complete missions while combating the opposing team. Unfortunately, like any popular game, CS:GO comes with its fair share of cheaters. Cheating activities in CS:GO include the use of software or hardware to get an unfair advantage over other players in the game

Cheating in CS:GO has been done in many forms, including wallhacks, aimbots, triggerbots, and more. While Wallhacks allow cheaters to view through walls and spot enemies easily, Aimbots give players the ability to automatically aim and shoot at enemies with perfect accuracy without effort. Similarly, triggerbots can automatically fire a weapon everytime the enemy is in the crosshairs.

As per reports, cheating is a prevalent problem in CS:GO. In the year 2021, CS:GO had over 25 million players, with over 11 million daily active players. As per SteamDB, a website that tracks Steam data, CS:GO had over 7 million players who were banned for cheating as of January 2022.

The number of cheaters in CS:GO has seen steady hikes over the years. In 2018, there were more than 1.2 million VAC (Valve Anti-Cheat) bans issued. In 2020, this increased to over 1.9 million. The increase in the number of bans is a testament of the increase in the number of cheaters in the game.

Valve Corporation, the developer of CS:GO, has been taking action to combat cheating in the game. In 2020, Valve launched a new system called “Trusted Mode,” which disabled third-party

CS:GO is a popular first-person shooter game among millions of active players worldwide. However, unfortunately, cheating has been a ongoing issue in the game.

Cheating in CS:GO:

As per a study published by HvR Analytics, a data analytics firm that specializes in gaming, cheating is a massive issue in CS:GO. They found out that close to 20% of the players in CS:GO have at some point of time used some form of cheating software. Additionally, the study also indicated that the number of cheaters has been rising over the years, with a huge spike in cheating incidents during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Types of Cheats Used:

Aimbots, wallhacks, and triggerbots are the most frequently utilized CS:GO cheats. Players with aimbot software can automatically aim at their adversaries, giving them an unfair advantage in gun battles. Players can more easily find and take out enemies thanks to wallhacks, which give them the ability to see through walls and other solid things. The player’s accuracy and response time are improved by triggerbots, which fire automatically when an adversary comes into view.

Efforts to Combat Cheating:

VAC (Valve Anti-Cheat) and Overwatch are two of the strategies Valve Corporation has used to stop cheating in CS:GO. An automatic system called VAC finds cheats and disallows them from the game. On the other side, Overwatch is a community-driven system where skilled players examine gameplay footage of reported cheats to evaluate whether or not they are indeed cheating.

Additionally, Valve unveiled Trust Factor, a matchmaking system that rates players based on their in-game conduct. Players who score highly on the Trust Factor are more likely to be paired with other reliable players, whereas players who score poorly on the Trust Factor are more likely to be paired with other low-scoring players, including cheaters.

Cheating is a huge prevalent issue in CS:GO that continues to tarnish the game’s integrity and fairness. Although the developer Valve Corporation has taken some measures to combat cheating, the prevalence of cheating in the game continues to be high and increases further. It is crucial for players to report if they suspect any cheaters.
