Who Is Iso In Valorant? All You Need To Know

1 years ago By AI Smith

VALORANT just revealed the addition of Iso, a Chinese assassin, as a new agent in EP 7 Act 3. The community was excited by the release trailer, which was excellent and included a reference to Omen towards the conclusion.

Although the relationship between Iso and Omen is yet unknown, it will be intriguing to see what hypotheses and conjectures fans have about this new character’s past. Regarding Iso’s equipment and skills, we don’t need to make any assumptions. He has an interesting kit and is the sixth duelist on the roster.

What skills does he possess? Does he have a chance? Do I need to main him? You might be asking yourself a lot of questions. Fear not, for we shall go deeply into Iso’s capabilities, function, and a lot of other Iso features

Iso Abilities Explained

Iso was portrayed in the movie’s trailer as an assassin, yet his skills are not exactly what one would associate with the term. His equipment is more geared toward individual talents than it is at sneaking around, making it ideal for players with good mechanics. So let’s talk about Iso’s talents. His armament is a combination of other abilities from different agents.

Contingency (C)

Cost: 250

Charge: 1

After arming yourself with an energy wave, you shoot the enemy, launching an unbreakable wall at them. The only difference between it and Harbor’s Wall is that you can’t shoot through it. In order to offer more protection, the sides of it are curved differently and protrude inward. As opposed to Harbor’s wall, it doesn’t slow down adversaries.

Since contingency protects you from hostile fire, it’s beneficial for taking up space. When combined with some flashes, it becomes an invincible attack.

Undercut (Q)

Cost: 200

Charge: 2

After arming a molecular energy ball, you shoot it in the direction of your adversaries. It passes through walls and renders opponents susceptible for four seconds upon touch. It functions a lot like Omen’s Paranoia, except instead of blinding you as Killjoy’s Alarmbot does, it leaves you exposed.

Double Tap (E)

Cost: 150

Charge: 2

Of all Iso’s abilities, the Double Tap is the most intriguing. You can shoot an orb that resembles Reyna’s Soul Orb to obtain a purple shield after defeating an opponent. This orb appears above the enemy skull. You absorb the next blow with this purple shield.

Double Tap functions by applying a shield to you that takes hits instead of you, but Reyna’s Dismiss imparts a momentary invulnerability. But whatever the nature of that strike may be, it is annihilated after just one. Make careful use of it, since it has the potential to deflect an OP shot or a pistol round. For 15 seconds, the shield is in effect.

Kill Contract (X) – Ultimate

7 orbs to charge

Grasping an interdimensional arena in your hands, you unleash a torrent of energy across the battleground. You are taken to another arena where you and the first person the wave strikes will engage in a death-defying duel. It’s just skill-based; no abilities exist, and the highest player wins. Here, consider the Gulag in Warzone.

Notably, both players receive their maximum HP regardless of their previous HP. Your initial state of health is restored to you following the combat.

Iso’s Role Explained

Iso appears to have a slightly different kit than the other duelists we have at first glance. His preferred agent kind for his kit is an initiator. Consequently, Iso is best utilized as an initiator/duelist, either as a second fragger or to set up plays for entrance fraggers like Jett.

It does not, however, preclude you from using him as the lead duelist in a team competition. Two great skills for taking early control of a map are Contingency and Undercut. We just believe that aiding the main fragger will make his kit more beneficial.

Is Iso Viable in Ranked?

Iso does really have a powerful and simple-to-use toolset. With his kit, you can stand on your own and make solo plays. Having an agent is beneficial since standard-ranked lobbies lack communication.

When Double Tap is added, you have an agent that can dominate solo queue lobbies. Furthermore, he doesn’t need to communicate as much to use his powers just like Astra or Breach do. This allows you to capitalize on your skills and add value to the team.

Iso in the Scene of Pros

The professional landscape in VALORANT is extremely intricate, with various teams experimenting with various overall comps and strategies. It was thought that Yoru was a troll choice, but teams like Sentinels and Paper Rex made him useful on maps like Bind. As for Iso, who knows what he will offer to the professional scene, it is hard to say.

Right now, one may argue that Iso’s kit is overpowering, especially with undercut and contingency. When it comes to maps with short entrances, iso can be very helpful.

Iso encounters the same issue that Reyna does. In contrast to professional teams, which are more focused on team play, his equipment is more designed for individual playmaking. Second, there is no real benefit to his ult. Unlike Killjoys’ or Viper’s Ult, it does not fundamentally alter the game. You have no choice but to engage in a one-on-one battle; if you lose, this ult will be useless and you will only be able to gain one kill.

Undercut and Contingency are great tools for setting up moves, but they are not enough to keep him competitive in the pro meta. However, teams will most likely use Iso on their comp given how intricate the pro scene is. It will be fascinating to observe what the pros do with Iso in Valorant.

Riot Games is the developer and publisher of Valorant, a free-to-play first-person tactical hero shooter game for Windows.
