There have been reports suggesting that Rockstar Games could possibly reveal the next game in the series later this year. Since the 10th Anniversary of Grand Theft Auto 5 and Online is also just around the corner, the American gaming studio may use the occasion to announce GTA 6’s release date.

For now, all we know is that GTA 6 might release later in 2024 or earlier 2025. It seems that the game may receive an official reveal in September or October 2023. Several reports including those of the most popular Grand Theft Auto insiders suggested the timeframe earlier in 2023. The sources suggested that Rockstar Games could ame use of Grand Theft Auto 5 and Online’s 10th anniversary to announce the upcoming game, possibly via an in-game event.

Similarly, Rockstar Games’ parent company, Take-Two Interactive, also revealed massive financial expectations for Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25). Take-Two’s CEO, Strauss Zelnick, has repeatedly asserted confidence in FY25 turning out to be one of their most successful financial periods ever. While neither Take-Two nor Strauss Zelnick disclosed any reason behind such expectations, GTA 6 is assumed to be the only worthy candidate for generating the anticipated $8bn Net Bookings revenue.

Recently the CEO also revealed that the game will be released in the next fiscal year, leaving the window of April 2024 – March 2025 open.

September 2022 revealed massive GTA 6 leaks that gave fans an unofficial first look at the title. However the fans are still awaiting an official announcement from the developer Rockstar Games. If that happens to be the case, Rockstar Games would likely announce the title officially in the coming months, keeping the time between then and its release for promotions and marketing.
