Valorant Mobile: “We Won’t Launch The Game Unless It Feels Amazing On Mobile,” Says Riot Officials
Riot Games has created a buzz in the gaming world with the announcement of Valorant Mobile, the highly anticipated mobile version of their successful title, Valorant. Fans are eagerly awaiting its release, but Riot officials have made it clear that they will not rush the launch. In a recent interview with Inquirer, Whalen Rozelle, Chief Operating Officer, Esports at Riot Games, and Anna Donlon, Senior Vice President, Executive Producer for Valorant, emphasized their commitment to delivering an exceptional gaming experience on smartphones.
“Our main focus right now is on making sure that we’re creating the right game that feels truly amazing on mobile. We won’t launch the game on mobile unless it surpasses all expectations and feels truly extraordinary. It’s been a challenging but enjoyable journey, and we believe we’re making fantastic progress,” stated Rozelle and Donlon.
Their approach indicates that Riot Games places a high value on player satisfaction and will not compromise on the quality of the mobile version. They aim to achieve the same level of success as Valorant’s PC version and avoid any issues that could potentially disappoint players, such as subpar graphics or poor optimization.
Valorant Mobile is envisioned as a competitive shooter game on mobile platforms, aligning with Riot Games’ reputation for hosting esports tournaments for titles like League of Legends and Valorant. The company intends to organize esports events for Valorant Mobile players, making it a competitive gaming experience on par with its PC counterpart.
“It has to be a great game first and foremost, and that’s exactly what we’re striving for. Valorant Mobile is being designed as a competitive shooter game, and that is our ultimate goal, which makes the development process challenging,” added Rozelle and Donlon.
Despite the excitement surrounding the game’s development, Riot Games has not provided many updates on Valorant Mobile. The officials emphasized that they are being cautious about sharing details to avoid raising expectations prematurely. They understand that once updates are released, players will eagerly anticipate the game’s official launch and its features.
“People are eagerly awaiting an update on Valorant Mobile, but we have not provided one yet. We’re deliberately holding off on updates because once we do share new information, players will naturally want to know when the game will be available and what to expect,” explained Rozelle and Donlon.
The official announcement of Valorant Mobile on June 2, 2021, ignited immense excitement among mobile gamers. Leaked gameplay videos from last year hinted at a 5vs5 character-based FPS title with similarities to its PC version. However, Riot Games has kept specifics regarding features, graphics, gameplay, agents, modes, and in-game elements under wraps.
Valorant Mobile has already generated considerable interest among the mobile gaming community, with many eagerly awaiting its release. Fans and players alike are hopeful that Riot Games will deliver a stellar gaming experience on mobile platforms and are eagerly anticipating the official details and launch date.
