Top 10 Super Nintendo Possible Remake In 2023? All Games Name
We have compiled the 10 Super NES video games that deserve to receive a remake after the announcement of the Super Mario RPG remake by Nintendo.
The Super Mario RPG remake for Nintendo Switch was, especially among old-school gamers, one of the most powerful announcements from the Nintendo Direct held on June 21. Nintendo, like other companies, is interested in allowing new generations of users, as well as veterans, to be able to enjoy some of its greatest jewels from the past with a visual revamp to match what is expected of a modern game. Plus a handful of quality-of-life settings to make your adventure easier in case the original work hasn’t stood the test of time well.
Following the announcement of this update of the first role-playing video game set in the Super Mario universe, we have decided to review the most outstanding titles of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System that deserve to receive a similar treatment to that of Super Mario RPG so that both players who played the original title and neophytes can enjoy a classic with a major facelift. Keep in mind that the works that we will highlight below are not ordered under any preference criteria.
Chrono Trigger
Chrono Trigger could not be missing from our list, since lovers of this classic Japanese role-playing game that features character designs by Akira Toriyama, father of Dragon Ball, have been asking Nintendo and Square Enix to collaborate again for a long time. Launch a remake for current consoles. It is likely that, if one day they decide to get down to business with Chrono Trigger Remake, it will update its graphics with the HD-2D style that has been so well received in games like Octopath Traveler or LIVE A LIVE. However, technical aspects aside, the main thing we would ask of the remake is to preserve the refined combat system of the original, as well as its intricate story full of plot twists.

Donkey Kong Country
Donkey Kong Country and Donkey Kong Country 2 were truly amazing graphics when they were released, although they weren’t just games that stood out for the way they made the most of the Super Nintendo hardware. Its exquisite level design, which hides a multitude of secrets and tests both the reflexes and the skill of the players at the controls, as well as its unmistakable soundtrack, which is a real pleasure for the ears, were other factors that raised both titles at the top of the platform genre at the time. Without a doubt, two titles that we would be delighted to revisit with remakes that respect everything that made them great.
Earthbound
What can we say about Earthbound that hasn’t already been said? The second instalment of the Mother saga has reached the category of a cult classic over the years thanks to the word of mouth of all those who were fascinated by its universe. And it is not for less, since we are talking about one of the rarest, daring, disconcerting, sinister and special works that we can find in the console catalogue.
Quite a rarity that continues to surprise us today due to its peculiar sense of humour. The ingenious ways with which it parodies the JRPG genre, and the originality of some of its mechanics. Of course, we are not surprised that users insistently ask for a remake of Earthbound. Although we are not sure if this would keep all the content since the original game has some scenes and situations that could be censored. Because they could make new players uncomfortable, hurt sensibilities and catch them off, guard.
Final Fantasy VI
The sixth final fantasy is considered by many role-playing lovers as the best Final Fantasy ever, something that is no small feat considering both the trajectory and the significance that the Square Enix saga has had over the years. Of all the titles on the list, the Final Fantasy VI remake is one of the ones with the most ballots to exist in the future, especially if we take into account that Yoshinori Kitase, head of the brand, has recently commented that he has received requests internal to develop an update from the classic adventure in which we have to face the evil Kefka. Of course, it does not seem that it will happen in the short term, since the Japanese company is focusing on finishing developing other projects.
Street Fighter II
The quintessential 2D fighting game of the 16-bit era couldn’t miss our list of Super Nintendo games that deserve a remake either. Now that the Street Fighter saga is once again on everyone’s lips and at the top thanks to the more than remarkable Street Fighter 6, it wouldn’t seem unreasonable for Capcom to decide to revisit the most legendary installment loved by lovers of the genre. Yes, we are aware that Street Fighter II has received multiple versions over the years, but you won’t deny that an update with the RE Engine graphics engine would be great.

Super Ghouls’n Ghosts
After the indisputable success of Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection, we would not oppose Capcom’s decision to bring back Super Ghouls’n Ghosts, the third main instalment of the action and arcade platform saga that originally landed on the Super Nintendo back in 1991. The dream remake of this classic would respect the essence of the original, so it would not change one iota of aspects such as level design or difficulty, but it would have an art direction equal to the one we could see in Resurrection.
Super Mario World / Yoshi’s Island
Super Mario World and Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island, the curious second part in which Nintendo’s Italian plumber passed the baton to Yoshi, are two works that have aged well, both in terms of care and beautiful artistic direction as in their gameplay and studied level design. However, we would not be disgusted by a reimagining of both that would highlight the already beautiful visual section, surprise us with remixes of the catchy original themes, and even dare to expand its content with new levels or playable characters.
Super Metroid
Super Metroid, also known as Metroid 3, is the next title in the 2D series that should receive a remake. After Metroid: Zero Mission and Metroid: Samus Returns, the remakes of the first Metroid and Metroid II: Return of Samus released on Game Boy Advance and Nintendo 3DS respectively, Super Metroid is, as we said, the next candidate to receive an updated version. Even though the project has not been announced by Nintendo, we would not be surprised if it arrived in the future thanks to MercurySteam, the study that was in charge of Seamus Returns and Metroid Dread, the fifth main instalment. Of course, it would be a dream to rediscover Metroid 3 with the impeccable gameplay of the last title in the series.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
It is indisputable that The Legend of Zelda saga has experienced a boom in popularity in recent years thanks to the excellence achieved by The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and its sequel, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. However, Nintendo has not forgotten the two-dimensional aspect of one of its most emblematic franchises, and in 2019 it ventured to launch a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening for Nintendo Switch with a simple beautiful visual section. In this sense, we believe that the Japanese company could bring back The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past in a similar way, that is, modernizing the visual section with a more colourful, daring and current aspect, but maintaining the playable bases that worked so well in the classic.
