We have witnessed the domination of Team Liquid at ELS One New York. It is more than apparent that some good teams like Team Liquid can become great or even the greatest at that moment when the teammates decide to completely trust each other enough to give up on „I“ and replace it with „we“.
That happened with Team Liquid – and look what have they accomplished playing as a team. At ELS One New York the audience was absolutely thrilled since we all have witnessed one of the greatest runs when it comes to this major North American Counter-Strike competition. It is fair to say that Team Liquid’s performance may be easily considered as one the greatest performances in terms of Counter-Strike professional matches history in general.
Team Liquid have shown us its strength and amazing skills while defeating their biggest rival team Virtus.Pro. Other North American teams have made their deep runs at the very beginning of the game, but it was more than apparent that none team has inspired that much confidence like Team Liquid in this run against team Virtus.Pro.
It seems like an entirely new age of Counter-strike era is coming, and Team Liquid is poised to lead the way. Even though currently we are hearing some accusations of aberration when it comes to this latest Team Liquid’s success, the team did nothing wrong, just showed their amazing performance and strength. It seems like that they are competing having their goal always on their minds, and that is to bring that title home with them. It seems like there is nothing that can stop them, and of course, other teams like Cloud9 may feel more than threatened by Team Liquid’s latest success.
The Liquid Democracy
When it comes to some broader context of North American eSports scene, it is the scene that mostly emphasizes egotism, individualism, and display of skills. Therefore, the players are not so focused on things that really matter and that is to play as a team, not as a single player. Playing as a team can often lead to victory, and Team Liquid has just has shown us that. At some point they were good, but these days, they are more than good, and could even be described as amazing.
It is more than apparent that everyone on the team wants to be a star. However, there is a great judgment present between the players, and they are focused on being the stars of their team instead of being focused on showing their skills as a part of the team.
This is the absolutely toxic attitude and in order to neutralize that a team needs someone who will be that leading man who will keep everyone on board. Team Cloud9 back in 2015 had amazing leaders when team’s enforcer Ryan fREAKAZOiD Abadir and Sean Gares decided to team up.
These days, Team Liquid has that what is necessary for success including some of the greatest players like Nicholas nitrO Cannella, Joshua jdm64 Marzano, Jonathan EliGE Jablonowski, Jacob Pimp Winneche, Oleksandr s1mple Kstoyliev, Spencer Hiko Martin and Kenneth koosta Suen. We are looking forward to seeing the team in future competitions.
