Excitement is mounting as a brand new “prologue” key visual and the eagerly awaited third PV trailer have been revealed for the upcoming Shangri-La Frontier TV anime series. Scheduled to grace our screens for two consecutive cours, the series is set to premiere on October 1, 2023.
The Creative Minds Behind the Anime
Toshiyuki Kubooka, known for his work on “Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina,” takes the helm as the director of the anime. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu, celebrated for his role in “Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina,” assumes the role of the series screenwriter and scriptwriter. Contributing their talents, Ayumi Kurashima, renowned for her character design work in “Nomad: Megalo Box 2,” steps in as the character designer and chief animation director. The anime takes inspiration from the manga, penned by Katarina and illustrated by Ryousuke Fuji. It made its debut in Kodansha’s Weekly Shounen Magazine under the KC Deluxe label on July 15, 2020. As of July 2023, fourteen tankoubon volumes have been released, with the fifteenth eagerly anticipated on October 17, 2023. The manga is itself an adaptation of Katarina’s web novel, which first saw the light of day on Shousetsuka ni Narou in 2017.
