Saudi Esports Federation Join A Three-year Partnership With KFC To Empower Female E-league
A three-year partnership between Saudi Esports Federation (SEF) and Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) has now been officially confirmed. The collaboration will result in positive initiatives dedicated to supporting and empowering female gamers in the country along with launching local talent onto the global esports scene. The SEF is the regulating body responsible for nurturing elite gamers and developing the gaming industry and community in Saudi Arabia.
The partnership seeks to introduce series and challenges that are specially designed to spot and nurture upcoming esports talent in the country. Through this initiative, Saudi-based gamers will have the opportunity to access SEF’s prominent esports development programs. This will help advance gamers in their journey towards becoming professional esports athletes.
The SEF and KFC team-up will also look towards enhancing the growing gaming landscape in the country. This will be done through high-quality streamed content and facilitated by Voices of Saudi Esports, SEF’s own streaming program. KFC plays a vital role in promoting engaging gaming content by treating audiences to branded gameplay that comes with thrilling KFC discounts and promotions.
Commenting on this exciting partnership, Ahmed Albishri, Deputy CEO of SEF said, “This collaboration marks a significant stride towards building a robust gaming ecosystem in the Kingdom by nurturing emerging talents, providing engaging content, and promoting gender equality in gaming.” He further added the SEF and KFC were “set to reshape the esports landscape in Saudi Arabia through the dynamic partnership.”
One of the main highlights of this collaboration is the launch of the ‘First Female Saudi E-League.’ The league will be dedicated to empowering female gamers in the Kingdom. The best-performing team will then enter the KFC X SEF accelerator program. This will provide them with one-on-one training with professional esports trainers and teams. The program will push female gamers to the forefront of the gaming scene while also giving them a spot at Gamers8 in 2024, one of the biggest gaming and esports festivals in the world.
The second edition of Gamers8 was an eight-week-long esports festival that was held at the Boulevard Riyadh City. It hosted elite esports tournaments, live music concerts, and multiple activities and attractions. For the next edition of the festival, KFC will keep a close watch on the trail-blazing female gamers as they continue their journey and celebrate every growth and triumph with them.
“Here at KFC, we have always believed in the magic esports brings. Due to this, PLAY KFC was created as the ultimate platform to ignite passions, unite communities, and unveil talents,” says Ozge Zoralioglu, Chief Marketing Officer, KFC, Yum! Brands. “However, what really sets apart PLAY KFC is its ‘First Female Saudi E-League,’ an initiative that represents our steadfast commitment to empowering female gamers and celebrating their growth,” Zoralioglu added. “Our collaboration with the Saudi Esports Federation promises an experience that lingers, an impact that resonates, and a legacy that’s nothing short of extraordinary.”
