OpTic Gaming is facing Serious Problems with Their CS:GO Lineup

Vedran Ostojic | August 13, 2017 | Counter-Strike | No Comments

In the last couple of months, OpTic Gaming is going through some rough time because they are experiencing huge problems when it comes to their Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster. North American team is having serious problems with the results in the same period and the problems with the roster will just prolong their period of bad results.

In the first seven months of this year, OpTic Gaming was faced with two players who left the team when Peter ‘stanislaw’ Jarguz decided to leave the team. He would eventually sign with Team Liquid while the second player that left, Jason ‘JasonR’ Ruchelski quit competitive gaming in order to focus on his streaming because of the financial reasons.

Third player that left

After those two players left the team, OpTic Gaming apparently was having a stable period when it comes to their roster. When JasonR left the team, team’s coach at that time, James ‘hazed’ Cobb stepped in as a replacement. It did not take a long time for him to become the permanent member of the team while Chet ‘IamAPet’ Singh joined the team as their coach.

However, the things have changed significantly. Yesterday, hazed announced that he will be leaving the team for some reasons that he refused to reveal. According to his statement, he will be taking a break from the competition until he gets the right offer to play competitively once again. From that statement, many concluded that OpTic Gaming did not want to make hazed permanent member of their team but rather just keep him as a replacement.

With this announcement, hazed became the third player that left OpTic Gaming. Not that long ago, in one statement OpTic Gaming stated that the team is currently facing different problems but the biggest seems to be the frustrations that players have, bad performances, as well as the constant changes in the roster. Having that statement in mind, the departures of these three players are not that big of a surprise and it does not seem that the troubles will be ending for OpTic Gaming anytime soon.

Possible Fourth Departure from the Team

As if it was not enough problem that hazed announced his departure, another team member has been saying recently that he is also thinking about leaving the team. Oscar ‘mixwell’ Canellas has been playing as an AWP player in OpTic Gaming and he has said that he does not like that position and that he does not feel comfortable.

Besides that, mixwell has also indicated that being so far away from his home in Spain is really troublesome for him on some occasions. OpTic Gaming CEO, Hector ‘H3CZ’ Rodriguez has said that if mixwell decided to leave the team because of that reason, neither he nor anyone else in the organization will make any troubles because they understand his wish to be closer to his home and his family and friends.

Despite all the problems with the roster this year, OpTic Gaming has been looking much better in their matches. The results are still not satisfying but it seems that they might be on the right path. However, the lack of players in the team will slow down that improvement in the upcoming period.
