It took Na’Vi a long time but they are finally able to say that they have finished with rebuilding their Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team. Yesterday, the team announced that they have signed three new players and it was a pretty big shock for everyone who follows Counter-Strike eSports competitions.
After several weeks of reports being published about the problems in Gambit’s team, official confirmation came last night when Zeus twitted about the rest of the players from the team turning against Kane and him. As a consequence, Zeus did not want to stay in that team any longer and he decided to leave the team together with Kane.
Danylo ‘Zeus’ Teslenko’s Return
Not even a year ago, Zeus was playing for Na’Vi and then Gambit Esports came calling and Zeus did not think a lot about the offer as he decided to join the team. His time in Gambit Esports was very good and in the end, it culminated with their win at the Major in Krakow a couple of weeks ago. However, as it usually happens, after big success big troubles arise as well. The same thing happened with Gambit Esports.
Just a couple of days after they had won the Krakow Major, Gambit Esports found themselves in big troubles as news reports broke that the relations in the team are far from perfect. It seems that the biggest problem was Gambit’s coach, Mykhailo ‘Kane’ Blagin, who was accused by the players of the lack of professional qualities as they called it.
In that kind of atmosphere, it is almost impossible to keep the roster intact and that is what led Zeus to leave Gambit Esports. However, Zeus will not be the only player who will return to Na’Vi because Denis ‘seized’ Kostin will be returning to the starting lineup after a month being away. Seized stepped away from the leading position in the team and decided to stay on the bench for some time but with the return of Zeus, he also decided to come back, which Na’Vi gladly accepted.
Change on the Coaching Position
As mentioned before, it seems that Mykhailo ‘Kane’ Blagin was the biggest problem in Gambit Esports because other players were not able to find the common ground with this coach. Gambit Esports did not want to let go Zeus but once it was revealed that Kane might be leaving the team, Zeus set up an ultimatum. If Kane gets released from the team, he would also be leaving the team.
This ultimatum went against everything that the remaining players from the roster were hoping for and despite that ultimatum, they decided that it was time for Kane to leave the team. In the end, it seems that Gambit Esports made a terrible mistake letting Zeus go because he was one of the crucial players when they won a Major title. Besides that, his experience led younger players from the team and now that will not be possible.
When it comes to Kane, he will be replacing Andrey ‘Andi’ Prokhorov as the coach in Na’Vi while it seems that Andi will be staying in the team but as an analyst. Gambit Esports became CS:GO Major Champions just a couple of weeks ago, and right now, all hell broke loose on the team and it does not look good for this team that waited on a Major title for a long time.
