NA LCS Spring Playoffs: Team SoloMid Advance To The Finals

NA LCS Spring Playoffs: Team SoloMid

The NA LCS Spring Playoffs are almost over, with only the finals and the third place matches left to be played. In the first semi-final match, Cloud9 defeated Phoenix1 easier than it was expected and there was only one thing that was unknown, and that was which team will be joining Cloud9 in the finals. Last night, the second semi-final match was played, and we can say that the final between Cloud9 and Team SoloMid has been set. It was clear to everyone, even perhaps to FlyQuest players that Team SoloMid will be a huge favorite for the win and that FlyQuest would have to put an amazing performance even to gain a chance of winning in that match. In the end, it was Team SoloMid that celebrated.

Three Games And Three Wins For TSM

The game one of the semi-final match started good for FlyQuest, and after some time they were up two kills. However, Team SoloMid was very close, and they managed to stay even in game one at that point because of the huge CS lead as well as the lead in the gold that they have acquired in all three lanes. To a surprise of many who were watching, Team SoloMid did not decide to use that gold to conquer more objectives but rather to fight against FlyQuest. During the middle part of the game, we were able to see great teamplay from both teams and at that point, teams traded kill after kill. In the end, it was Team SoloMid that overcame the FlyQuest for the win in the opening game of the semi-final match.

Unlike in the first game, FlyQuest managed to obtain Baron, but that did not provide them with a big advantage in the second game because Team SoloMid resisted all their attacks and in the end FlyQuest lost the second game as well. That meant that Team SoloMid was on the verge of winning the match and FlyQuest did not have much left to lose. But considering that they were 0-2 down, it seems that the semi-final match was coming to an end even before many had hoped for.

Game three proved to be the crucial one, and similarly to the game one, Team SoloMid started to acquire the lead early in the game through team fight in the early stages of the game three. During that time, Team SoloMid managed to have only two kills but combining those kills with their wins in the following team fights meant that they have acquired an advantage that will prove to be crucial. However, Team SoloMid made a huge mistake at one point that might have cost them the game three, but FlyQuest were not able to use that to their benefit. Eventually, Team SoloMid took down the Baron which they used to finish off FlyQuest for the clear 3-0 victory in the semi-final.

Team SoloMid v Cloud9 In The Finals

As we have said before, Team SoloMid will be facing Cloud9 in the final, and this will be their ninth final of the NA LCS competition so far. Additionally, this will be the sixth final that Team SoloMid and Cloud9 will play and considering the game that they displayed in their semi-final matches, we are in for a very interesting final that will be played next week.
