Mortal Kombat 1 teaser and first look, Release Date, Time & Location

3 months ago By Ronny Walker

Mortal Kombat 1 was of course one of the huge stars of this Summer Game Fest 2023 and it blew us away with impressive, nervous and above all, ultra-gore gameplay.

After months of teasing, rumours and cryptic messages from dear Ed Boon, the father of the franchise, the new MK is finally here. Called Mortal Kombat 1, the one previously called MK 12 is intended to be a reboot of the universe. A true/false sequel to the eleventh opus from which it will only borrow the “multiverse” dimension that has been developed in the series over the years. For the rest, we’re starting with new blood, in every sense of the word for that matter.

Mortal Kombat 1 finally shows gameplay

If it is always about fighting, parallel universes and ancestral wars, at first glance, Mortal Kombat 1 looks drastically different from the other books. Its gameplay should in particular offer us its share of novelties, as with these famous Kaméo which allow to involve cult characters of the franchise during the fight. We can also see them intervene several times by chaining the combos or by participating squarely in duo shots. The famous feature was widely presented during this Summer Game Fest 2023. It will thus be possible to choose your support fighter just after choosing your main fighter. Yes, it sends heavy. The cinematographic aspect has not been forgotten either and the story mode should be as complete and well done as the previous games.

Moreover, all the characters of the franchise will have the right to a whole new origin story. By the very admission of Ed Boon, father of the franchise, Mortal Kombat 1 presents itself as a real overhaul. Moreover, the complete design of the characters has been changed in the process, whether it is playable or present in Kaméo.

A new MK more violent and gorier than ever

On the other hand, what does not change is the ultra-violent and excessive gore dimension so dear to the license. A trademark whose ultimate signature, the Fatalities will always be present and even more gory than before. A bloody broom, often grotesque. But still just as exhilarating, once again intends to amaze us.

The first trailer for the game had already shown us some of what awaited us, but this new gameplay went a bit further regarding the gore. The blood flutters with each blow, the bones break and the choreographies of the special moves are always so successful. Very promising to see from here. ven if we will wait to feel the beast to know for sure.

It happens very quickly!

Mortal Kombat 1 is expected on PS5, Xbox Series and PC from September 19. A Nintendo Switch version should also see the light of day on the same date. And the latter will use the Cloud like many games that are far too greedy for it. Pre-orders for the game are already open and allow you to get your hand on many bonuses.

In addition to a standard version, two Deluxe editions are also on the program. The latter notably offers access to several playable characters and Kameo which will be available via post-launch DLC. It is also said that three crazy characters would be there as guest stars. The show should be guaranteed and verdict in a few weeks.
