Mortal Kombat 1: Confirmed Characters, Cameo Fighters
To provide an overview, let’s take a closer look at the complete squad of Mortal Kombat 1:
Liu Kang: After ascending to godhood and defeating Kronika in Mortal Kombat 11, Liu Kang resets the timeline to initiate the “New Era.” However, not everyone is eager to accept his offer of peace.
Scorpion: The beloved Shirai-Ryu ninja makes his return, seemingly allied with his eternal rival, Sub-Zero. Scorpion maintains his iconic appearance, complete with his trademark kunai weapon.
Sub-Zero: Like Scorpion, Sub-Zero is an integral part of Mortal Kombat’s history. He reunites with Scorpion in the game, showcasing his icy powers. However, his encounter with Shang Tsung ends in a brutal defeat.
Kitana: Mortal Kombat 1 introduces the regal Princess Kitana, still holding her title as princess of Edenia in this timeline. She appears alongside her sister Mileena, but tensions may arise between them.
Mileena: As a genetic experiment combining Edenian and Tarkatan DNA, Mileena is a lethal clone of Kitana. In the New Era, she remains a dangerous adversary, lurking in the shadows.
Kung Lao: While it’s unclear which version of Kung Lao appears in Mortal Kombat 1, his fashion sense remains sharp, with his iconic headgear making a stylish comeback.
Raiden: After sacrificing his divinity in Mortal Kombat 11, Raiden advises Liu Kang as a mortal. In the New Era, he stands alongside both the Fire God and Kung Lao.
Shang Tsung: As one of Mortal Kombat’s enduring villains, Shang Tsung wreaks havoc in Liu Kang’s new timeline, continuing his soul-stealing ways. However, divine justice awaits him.
Johnny Cage: Confirmed to be part of the roster, Johnny Cage’s reimagined version remains a mystery. However, the Premium Edition allows players to dress him up as legendary movie star Jean-Claude Van Damme, a tribute to his iconic role in Bloodsport.
Smoke: The fan-favourite ninja returns as a playable character for the first time since Mortal Kombat 9. Agile and deadly, Smoke wields a deadly knife and can strike with lethal precision.
Rain: Possessing water bending mastery, Rain controls the battlefield with his aquatic arsenal, unleashing devastating attacks from any range.
Kenshi: A master swordsman, Kenshi seamlessly combines lethal weapon strikes with ghostly assistance. His new fatality turns his sword into a gruesome blender.
Sektor: This Kameo version of Sektor possesses teleportation abilities and a barrage of missiles to launch at opponents.
Cyrax: Returning as a Kameo fighter, Cyrax can deploy explosives and use his torso-saw for close-quarter attacks.
Goro: While the tactical advantages of Goro’s Kameo character remain uncertain, his imposing presence and four deadly arms promise devastating combat skills.
Frost: Mortal Kombat’s ice queen returns with her ice-based offense, making her a formidable opponent at long-range.
Classic Scorpion: Fans of the original Mortal Kombat will appreciate wielding the power of Scorpion’s first incarnation, allowing for devastating hellfire attacks.
