Minecraft: 5 Steps To Hatch Sniffers In The Game
With the arrival of the Sniffer Mob in Minecraft’s Trails and Tales update (1.20), players are eager to learn how to hatch these unique creatures and discover their abilities. As the winner of the Mob Vote 2022, the Sniffer possesses the power to sniff out rare flowers and offers an intriguing gameplay experience. To help you make the most of this new addition, here are five steps to successfully hatch Sniffers in the game.
Step 1: Obtain an Ancient Egg
Unlike other mobs, Sniffers cannot naturally spawn in the game. To bring them into the world, you’ll need an ancient egg in the form of a Snifflet. You can excavate this special egg from suspicious sand blocks found in warm ocean ruins. Keep an eye out for these ruins during your explorations.
Step 2: Choose a Hatching Location
Once you have acquired the Sniffer egg, it’s time to select a suitable location for hatching. You can place the egg on any block, and the hatching process will commence. However, if you place the egg on a moss block, the process will be significantly faster, taking only 10 minutes instead of the usual 20 minutes. So, consider placing the egg on top of a moss block for quicker results.
Step 3: Stay Nearby
While the Sniffer egg is hatching, make sure you remain close by. If the player moves more than 128 blocks away from the egg, the hatching progress will pause. Stay within range to ensure the process continues uninterrupted. It’s also worth noting that you can break the Sniffer egg with your hand, but jumping on it will not result in it breaking.
Step 4: Wait for the Snifflet to Hatch
After about 20 minutes (or 10 minutes if placed on a moss block), the Sniffer egg will hatch, giving birth to a Snifflet. This is the juvenile version of the Sniffer. The Snifflet will roam around and begin sniffing the surroundings, searching for two specific types of ancient seeds: Torchflower and Pitcher Plant. Observe the Snifflet’s behaviour as it prepares to transform into a full-grown Sniffer.
Step 5: Provide Suitable Blocks for Seed Collection
To enable your Sniffer to collect Pitcher Pods and Torchflower Seeds, you need to create a suitable environment. Surround the Sniffer with a 6×6 area of blocks that support seed planting. Blocks like dirt, grass, Podzol, coarse dirt, rooted dirt, moss, mud, and muddy mangrove roots are included in this. The Sniffer will continue to gather seeds and pods as long as it remains in this designated area.
Remember, Sniffers do not find seeds more quickly while grazing on moss blocks as they did during the hatching process. So, ensure you provide the appropriate blocks for ongoing seed collection.
By following these five steps, you can successfully hatch Sniffers in Minecraft and embark on exciting adventures with these unique mobs. Make use of their abilities to find rare flowers and explore the game’s diverse landscapes. Enjoy the immersive gameplay experience that Sniffers bring to Minecraft’s ever-evolving world.
