Worlds 2023: Dates, Schedule, and Venues
The Worlds 2023 event is scheduled from October 10 to November 19, allowing LoL Esports pro players to compete in the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. The tournament will unfold across four prestigious venues in South Korea, showcasing the grandeur and excitement of this monumental event.
Here’s a rundown of the dates and locations for Worlds 2023:
- Play-Ins: October 10-15 (LoL Park, Seoul)
- Group Stage: October 19-29 (KBS Arena, Seoul)
- Quarter-finals: November 2-5 (Sajik Indoor Gymnasium, Busan)

- Play-In Stage: A Grueling Start to the Competition
The Play-In Stage kicks off the competition, taking place from October 10 to 15 at LoL Park in Seoul. Eight teams are divided into two double-elimination groups, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the next stage. All matches are best-of-three (BO3).
Next, the Play-In Round 2 features the winners of each group facing the runner-ups from the other group. Both matches are best-of-five (BO5), and the winners progress to the Swiss Stage.
Worlds 2023 Swiss Stage: The Battle for Advancement
Running from October 19 to 29, the Swiss Stage features 16 teams competing in a five-round format. In the first stage, teams are paired randomly with opponents from other regions. Subsequently, they face opponents with the same win-loss record. Teams that secure three victories move on to the playoffs, while those with three losses are eliminated. Progression and elimination matches are BO3, with the remaining matches being BO1.
Worlds 2023 Playoffs: The Quest for the Championship
From November 2 to 19, the top eight teams enter the Playoffs, competing in a single-elimination bracket. All matches are best-of-five (BO5), showcasing the highest level of gameplay as teams vie for the ultimate glory of being crowned Worlds Champions.
