League of Legends Worlds 2023: Complete Schedule
The Worlds 2023 tournament will feature a total of 22 teams from professional leagues worldwide. Teams will compete in a series of stages to determine the ultimate champion.
Here’s a breakdown of the tournament schedule:
1) Play-In Stage (October 10 – October 15)
During this stage, eight teams will be divided into two groups, and they will compete in a Double Elimination bracket. All matches in this stage will be best-of-three. The top two teams from each group will advance to Play-In Round 2.
In Play-In Round 2, the winners of the Upper Bracket from each group will face the winners of the Lower Bracket from the other group. These matches will be best-of-five. The two victorious teams will proceed to the Swiss Stage.
2) Swiss Stage (October 19 – October 29)
The Swiss Stage introduces a Swiss System Format, with a total of 16 teams participating. In Round 1, teams will be paired against teams from different regions. Rounds 2-5 will be seeded according to each team’s win-loss record.
Matches in the Swiss Stage have varying formats. Elimination and Advancement matches will be best-of-three, while all other matches will be best-of-one. Teams that secure three wins will advance to the Knockout Stage, while teams with three losses will be eliminated from the tournament.
3) Playoff Stage (November 2 – November 19)
The Playoff Stage is where the competition intensifies. The top eight teams will enter a single-elimination bracket, competing in Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Grand Final. These matches will all be best-of-five, showcasing the highest level of gameplay and strategic prowess.
