KRAFTON To Invest $150 Million In India For BGMI
South Korean gaming company and BGMI-developer, Krafton Inc., recently announced that it plans to invest $150 Million in India over the next two to three years. By doing this investment the company aims to nurture local talents, foster innovation, and propel India into the forefront of the global gaming industry.
Krafton focuses on an India-first approach and it remains to be committed to fostering overall growth of the gaming and startup ecosystem in the country. The company made its first investment in March 2021, and ever since then it has already infused approximately $140 million into 11 innovative start-ups.
The investment philosophy of the company is aimed at delivering strategic value that transcends to more than just financial contributions. It looks forward to leveraging its expertise and experiences within its segments.
Apart from being a game development studio, the company’s investments spread across complementary sectors too. This includes esports, multimedia entertainment, content creation and audio platforms. In the past few months, Krafton has managed to expand its focus to include the creators too as well as deep tech. This will thus actively support startups in these emerging segments.

He said that the company’s strategic investments have been carefully chosen to align with the expertise and experience it has, thus empowering innovative ideas and startups to thrive.

Founded in 2007, KRAFTON includes PUBG STUDIOS, Bluehole Studio, RisingWings, Striking Distance Studios, Dreamotion, Unknown Worlds, 5minlab, Neon Giant, KRAFTON Montréal Studio and ReLU Games. Apart from delivering immersive experiences through BGMI, KRAFTON has also launched three other gaming titles in the past year. These include The Callisto Protocol, Road To Valor: Empires, and Defense Derby.
