Invictus Gaming Introduces Their Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Team

Ivan Potocki | June 8, 2017 | Counter-Strike | No Comments

Invictus Gaming is one of the biggest Chinese eSports organizations. Over the years they have established themselves as one of the best Dota 2 teams in the world. By winning The International 2, Invictus Gaming wrote their name in the history. The primary focus in this organization for many years has been on Dota 2. They have been the most successful in that eSports area, while other squads did not get that much of attention.

However, that is about to change. The team announced that they have launched their Counter-Strike: Global Offensive squad. The team will feature some of the best CS:GO players from the Chinese region. Many CS:GO fans are surprised with this turn of events. This is because there were no indications that Invictus Gaming might be joining the CS:GO scene.

The New Team

With the announcement that they have launched a CS:GO team, Invictus Gaming has also announced the names of the players that will be playing under their flag. Looking at the list of those players, it is clear all of them have gained a significant amount of experience playing for their previous teams.

Invictus Gaming has announced that MinHui ‘sPiNacH’ Sun, JianWei ‘wjw’ Wang, LeWei ‘Inory’ Li, ZhenWei ‘kylin’ Wang, and ZhaoHeng ‘813’ Yu have all signed contracts with the organization. These players will be representing Invictus Gaming in the upcoming CS:GO competitions.

Besides their players, Invictus Gaming has also revealed they have signed a contract with a certain European coach. However, they did not want to reveal the name of the coach just yet. Apparently, there are still some things that need to be resolved before the official announcement

Expectations are high as fans of Invictus Gaming have gotten used to good results. Considering that the Chinese Counter-Strike: Global Offensive scene is not as strong as in some other regions, Invictus Gaming might have decent chances for success.

However, good results might not come very quickly. It will probably take some time for the team to get used to the new environment. Players will need to get to know each other and set up the general team strategy. Despite that, Invictus Gaming might be on a good path of becoming a very respectable on the CS:GO scene. Clearly, the level that their Dota 2 team currently maintains will be almost impossible to reach. That said, even if their CS:GO team achieves half of what their Dota 2 squad has, that would be a huge success.

CS:GO in China

The Chinese CS:GO scene has become richer for one more team from one of the most successful eSports organization. Whether or not IG will be able to become a successful CS:GO team remains to be seen in the upcoming period.

The previously mentioned announcement also stated that they would be making their debut in CS:GO competitions in the Chinese qualifiers for the ESL One: Cologne 2017. Here, they will be fighting for one available spot at the Main Event. The tournament will take place from July 7th to July 9th. In those qualifiers, IG will have to face some of the Chinese CS:GO heavyweights such as TyLoo, New4, and ViCi Gaming.
