GTA 6 Fans Trolled With New Skin On Rumored Trailer Release Date
The craze for the Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6 release has resulted in many fans doing everything they can to get any titbit of information on its launch date. Ever since Rockstar Games announced that they are working to bring fans of GTA, the game’s 6th edition, fans have continued to speculate about the release date and all other information behind it. While there were some juicy details leaked to the public, none of it has been confirmed by the official team.
Over the past few months, there have been several leaks regarding the release date for GTA 6. Unfortunately for GTA fans none of these leaks have proven to be true. In the past, Rockstar Games have been historically known for launching new titles around on Tuesdays. This is why, many were hoping for a major announcement regarding the GTA 6 release on 24th October 2023 which is a Tuesday. Rockstar Games further fueled the fire by uploading what seemed to be a new but unpublished video on their website. This caused many fans to speculate that an announcement could be coming soon for the new game.
Leaks Leading Up to Tuesday’s Announcement
A Reddit user claimed that his wife works at Rockstar, and even revealed some details regarding the trailer which included a shot-by-shot recap and the music that was being used. According to the leak, the trailer had a Latin Funk song that had bongos and bass in it. It also claimed that the trailer would have two cars racing along with many wild animals like iguanas and alligators included in it. Beach parties, nightclubs, police chase, horse racing and much more were also speculated to be included in the video.
Apart from this, the user also said that the two new protagonists would also have a short dialogue as well. The rumored dialogue has Lucia saying, “This city has a way of reaching into your guts and stealing your soul that hard way, ya know?” To which Jason replied, “Yes, but who needs one of those anyway?”
The leak also seemingly has new logo of the game on it with a user on 4Chan stating that it would have a pink and purple gradient in it. As per this user, Rockstar Games was going to announce the new trailer for GTA 6 sometime on or before 26th October 2023 and the video would be almost two minutes long. With so much detailed information leaked, with Rockstar even dropping an unpublished video on their website, it further caused many to expect something at least to be revealed regarding GTA 6.
So, it was completely understandable that many were waiting with bated breaths to for the upcoming announcement Rockstar was going to make on 24th October. However, to the disappointment of many fans, it was the developers on Rockstar who had the last laugh as the new video finally went live.
GTA 6 Fans Gets Trolled
Instead of the highly-anticipated GTA 6 trailer or even an announcement, on the 24th of October, fans were greeted with a new Red Dead Online outfit. Leakers like Hai expected a GTA 6 announcement based on alleged leaked content like a recording from the director of Take-Two. Community members were understandably frustrated over getting trolled by Rockstar Games and were not ashamed to voice out their opinions. While Rockstar did not mention what the announcement would be on Tuesday, they also did not disprove what fans were speculating. So, it does look like the team might have known what they were doing all along.
On their social media, Rockstar Game revealed that the announcement was for a new Red Dead Online outfit that was community-inspired and comes for the YouTuber Bogan Bav. The new outfit design is in line with the spooky season and could be a part of the Halloween theme of the game. It was under this post that many from the GTA community expressed their thoughts on being somewhat trolled by the company.
GTA Fans Express Their Disappointment
Some of the comments were infused with light humor while some clearly held tones of disappointments. For example, one user commented: “I might get old, have three kids, split with my wife, and GTA 6 still won’t be announced.” Other comments went straight to the point saying, “Where is the GTA 6 announcement??” or “We don’t care, drop GTA 6.” Some comments were more sarcastic like, “Truly epic! Not like we were expecting anything else…especially not a reveal for the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto franchise…” and “Maybe if everyone starts to boycott GTA: Online they will be forced to announce GTA 6.”
Looking at the comments, it’s pretty clear that right now, all fans care about are just any updates on the next entry into the GTA franchise. With this epic troll by Rockstar Games, it just means that fans will have to keep waiting to get any information regarding the game.
