Final Fantasy XVI exceeds over 3 million copies sold, records, and other achievements
Square Enix’s latest action and role-playing adventure debuted on June 22 on PlayStation 5, and the company gives the first sales data.
Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy XVI exceeds 3 million copies sold -physical and digital distribution- since its launch on June 22 on PlayStation 5. This instalment has replaced turn-based combat with an action system and shows inspiration in the tone of Game of Thrones.
The specific days on which the figure has been reached are not indicated, but to compare with a recent Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy 7 Remake of PS4 in 2020 sold 3.5 million in its first three days. In its debut Final Fantasy XV -PS4, Xbox One- was released with 5 million copies; in the UK FF 16 sold 74% fewer physical copies than FF 15, although the growth of the digital market since 2016 makes this comparison irrelevant. In the case of a highly anticipated game from last March such as Resident Evil 4 Remake -on PS5, Xbox Series, PC and PS4- the 4 million in two weeks.
“This is the story of Clive Rosfield, a warrior who has been appointed as Rosaria’s chief guardian and is responsible for the protection of his brother Joshua, the Dominant of the Phoenix. Clive is soon involved in a great tragedy and swears revenge on Ifrit, the mysterious dark eikon that only leaves misfortune in its wake,” says its synopsis.
Our opinion of Final Fantasy XVI
“At the moment of truth, the good is what ends up weighing the most and that is what we have been left with,” we counted in the analysis. “When the adventure gets serious, it rises to the level of the best and reaches such a level that we momentarily forget about its imperfections, allowing us to be carried away by a spectacular journey like few others that will not leave anyone indifferent.
If this It’s what you’re looking for and you don’t care about the change of direction that this instalment represents for the series, don’t hesitate to give it a try”. Do not miss our complete guide to squeezing the world of Valisthea.
