EU LCS Summer Split Groups Announced

EU LCS Summer Split will be starting in just a couple of days. After a short break from the competitions, teams are ready to come back for the excitements that the Summer Split brings. The format of the Summer Split will be the same the format of the Spring Split which means that EU LCS is using the format of the competition present in NA LCS.

This means that ten teams competing will be divided into two groups with five teams. In those groups, teams would be fighting to get as better position as possible in order to gain the advantage in the playoffs.

EU LCS Summer Split Group A

When it comes to the groups for the Summer Split, they will be almost the same as for the Spring Split. The Group A of the competition will feature G2 eSports, Fnatic, Roccat, Misfits, and Ninjas in Pyjamas. As it can be seen, the group A will feature Ninjas in Pyjamas that are returning to LCS competitions after purchasing a spot from Fnatic Academy team.

When it comes to the favorites for the top two positions in the group, it seems that G2 eSports are the biggest favorites especially after their match against SK Telecom T1 at the Mid-Season Invitational. Besides G2 eSports, Fnatic will probably be the second team in the top two positions in Group A.

The remaining three teams from the group, Roccat, NiP, and Misfits will likely be the ones fighting to avoid relegation at the end of the group stage. Even though NiP have obtained a solid roster, they will probably not be able to do anything more significant in this Split.

EU LCS Summer Split Group B

The Group B of the EU LCS Summer Split will feature Unicorns of Love, H2K Gaming, Vitality, Splyce, and Mysterious Monkeys. Just like Ninjas in Pyjamas, Mysterious Monkeys are a new team in the competition. They purchased their spot from the Misfits Academy team.

Unlike Group A, Group B will probably feature more competitive matches. H2K Gaming, Splyce and Unicorns of Love finished in the second place during the Spring Split will be facing each other. Unfortunately, only two teams will advance, which means that the fighting for the positions will be a tough one.

Unicorns of Love, H2K Gaming, and Splyce will be fighting for the first two positions in the group. At the same time, Team Vitality and Mysterious Monkeys will be on the other end of the spectrum, fighting to avoid relegation.

Several Teams Stand Out From The Crowd

Looking at the teams in both groups, we cannot but to think that this will yet again be a big fight between G2 Esports, Unicorns of Love, and Fnatic. At this point, G2 eSports might be the greatest favorites as they finished as runner-ups at the Mid-Season Invitational that was played ten days ago.

The EU LCS Summer Split will be starting on June 1st with the matches in the group stage. However, organizers have yet to announce the schedule of play. However, with the opening of the competition approaching quickly, we believe that will happen in the next couple of days.
