Denial Esports Drop Their Overwatch Team

Denial eSports

The eSports organization that was known for the name Denial eSports will no longer exist. This it was revealed a couple of days ago. However, the players will be sticking together, and they will continue to play together as a team, competing under the new name, Yikes.

Over the last two years, since Overwatch has been present in eSports, Denial eSports did not have a lot of amazing results. Hence, we couldn’t characterize this organization as a successful one, at least in the aspects of results. However, Denial eSports did manage to win the third place at the Overwatch Monthly Melee that was played in April. This was their best result in the last couple of months.

Team Yikes – New Denial eSports

However, after April’s Overwatch Monthly Melee came to an end, it was announced that the entire roster of the Denial eSports will be leaving the organization. They plan to continue playing as a team called Yikes until they manage to find a new organization.

Currently, there are five players in Yikes team. However, to compete at the Overwatch tournaments, they will have to find the sixth player. Because of that, Yikes has started the trial perio. During this time, they will be looking for that sixth player to join the team.

Joint Statement

After it was made public that the entire roster has left the organization, all the players have released a statement. In it, they said that they have left the team and that they are not playing for any organization at the moment.

According to that statement, team Yikes is looking for a new organization. They need someone with the potential for participating in the Overwatch League that will be starting in less than three months. On the other hand, no Denial eSports official has spoken publicly about this issue. Currently, team Yikes features:

  • Derek ‘zza’ Johnson, a DPS player,
  • Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel, a tank player,
  • Danteh Cruz, a flex player,
  • Brice ‘Gigerpop’ Breakey and Donald ‘Dahun’ Leigh, support players.

A couple of days ago, it was also announced that five players are not the only one that have left Denial eSports. The head coach of their Overwatch team, Jeremy ‘Jerkkit’ Wong has also left the team. According to his and players’ statements, Jerkkit will continue to work as the coach for the team. Additionally, he will be taking over the responsibilities of the team’s manager.

Team Yikes, former Denial eSports, has proved themselves to be good players and a good team in general while playing online Overwatch tournaments. However, they are yet to prove their worth in the offline tournaments. That will not be an easy task as the Overwatch scene is featuring more and more teams that had good results in the most recent period.

The Overwatch League is basically jsutaround the corner. Hence, Yikes will have to put everything they have into achieving good results. This will help prove potentially interested organizations that they have the potential for impressive results and long-term success.
