List of Counter-Strike 2 New Features
Let’s take a look at everything that players can expect in Counter-Strike 2.
- Improve Lighting – All classic maps like Inferno, Mirage, Dust 2, and the Ilk will have improved lighting which will make them feel more immersive. The new improvement will have light reflecting off surfaces like tiles, puddles, and even create more realistic shadows.
- Modern Maps – The maps in the game have also been completely redesigned to suit a more modern aesthetic. The tools used to do this will also be made available to map makers in the community so that they can build and share what they’ve created.
- Volumetric 3D Smokes – The developers have also tried their best to bring more physics-based improvements to the game. This is done through the addition of volumetric 3D smoke that will be sensitive to movement and will even react to explosions, bullets passing through, and will change shape according to the situation. This is a massive improvement from CS:GO where smoke was represented like a grey mass.
- New Sub-Tick System – Another thing players can look forward to is the new sub-tick system that will assist official servers know the exact time a player has thrown a grenade or fired a shot. This means the tick-rate will be more responsive ensuring a smooth and more precise gameplay.
- New Rating System – Counter-Strike 2 has also introduced a new rating system that is now divided into a classic competitive mode and a Premier mode. This will allow players to pick the map they want and get ranked. The ranks are also divided based on maps, so if you’re a Master Elite on Mirage, you can be a Gold Nova player on Dust 2 at the same time.
Now that you know what all CS2 has in store, don’t waste any more time and start gaming!
