Can You Play Roblox On PlayStation?
On the site known as Roblox, gamers and game developers may have fun. Events, games, and activities are just a few of the many diverse things you may do on Roblox. According to the company’s official statistics, the platform has more than 65.5 million users at this time. The annual Roblox Developers Conference (RDC) 2023 event was held on Friday by Roblox. David Baszucki, the CEO of Roblox, made announcements about new features coming to the game, such as voice calling and dating. Along with that, Baszucki provided a much awaited response to the query, “Will Roblox be playable on PS4 and PS5?” Find out now!
When Is Roblox Coming on PS4 and PS5?
In 2006, Roblox made its Windows debut. Since then, it has spread to a number of additional platforms. On Android, iOS, and Xbox One, Roblox is already accessible. Jobs posted by Roblox in 2022 gave some indication that the company was aiming to fill positions relating to the PlayStation. According to the job description, the PlayStation software engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Roblox game engine for PlayStation gaming devices.
Baszucki further stated that Roblox wants to explore other platforms and be accessible to people worldwide during the August earnings call. Baszucki responded to a press inquiry regarding the availability of Roblox on the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation systems. Naturally, we keep an eye on those platforms and are actively listening.
Baszucki didn’t provide a definite response for a purpose, I suppose. The business formally announced at RDC 2023 in September that Roblox will debut on PS4 and PS5 on 10th October 2023.
Users of the PS5 and PS4 will be able to “access the full catalog of Roblox experiences” on their systems after the official release. This implies that you may sign in whenever Roblox is accessible on PlayStation systems and begin enjoying your preferred games, such as Blox Fruits or Bad Business.
Is Roblox Coming to Nintendo Switch?
However, Roblox, which was initially released as a “public beta” earlier this year, has reached a million downloads on the Meta Quest VR headset. Later this month, in September, it will be formally accessible on Meta Quest. The Nintendo Switch, however, is another story.
Speaking of a possible Nintendo Switch release, a Roblox representative stated (via The Verge) that no “imminent plans” exist to make their well-known social and gaming app available on Nintendo Switch. The representative did, however, clarify that they want Roblox to be accessible on all platforms, so a later release is not ruled out. Baszucki mentioned the same idea on stage at RDC 2023, adding to keep an eye out as Roblox expands to new locations.
Roblox In-experience Subscriptions
Recently, Roblox also launched an In-experience Subscriptions for its creators. They released a forum post to announce the launch. According to a forum post, Roblox will be creating an opportunity for developers to make subscriptions that they can sell in their experiences. Developers may now start to plan out their services. The announcement comes after the company in July said that it was working on tools that could enable them “establish a recurring economic relationship with their users and potentially increase the predictability of their earning.”
However, the post also states that Roblox users won’t be able to purchase memberships right away. In fact, they won’t be able to do so until some point in November. Users will pay for subscriptions in their home currencies when possible, but the money will be sent to developers as Robux, the virtual currency used on the Roblox platform.
