Big Changes In Gambit Esports League of Legends Lineup

Vedran Ostojic | May 13, 2017 | League Of Legends | No Comments

Gambit eSports has seen better days, and nobody is claiming otherwise. However, the team has been trying to come back to its glory paths for quite some time now. It does not seem that their efforts are having any effect. Especially troublesome for Gambit eSports was their performance at the LCL Spring Split that many characterized as horrific. According to some, it was the worst performance that Gambit eSports League of Legends team has ever displayed. After LCL Spring Split had finished, it became clear to everyone that there’ll be some serious changes to Gambit eSports roster.

Danil ‘Diamondprox’ Reshetnikov

After the end of the LCL Spring Split, Gambit eSports’ officials have announced that they will be releasing their entire LoL team. The only exception was their jungler, Danil ‘Diamondprox’ Reshetnikov. The team’s officials have announced that they will not be signing the contract extension with Viacheslav ‘Archie2b’ Egorov and that he will become a free agent.

On the other hand, other players, Ivan ‘FIRees’ Silantiev playing in the top lane, Valentin ‘NikSar’ Zimakov playing as ADC, and Michal ‘zoiren’ Zika playing as a mid lane player, have been transferred to the substitute positions while the team officials are looking for the new players. Besides that, these players are also allowed to negotiate with other eSports organizations about potential transfers.

According to the statement from the team’s officials, Gambit eSports will be looking for new players for their team. They’ll be looking for players who have already achieved certain success in the local competitions. At the same time, they’ll look for those who have also performed at the international LoL stage. According to the same statement, the team also hopes they’ll be able to form a squad before the Summer Playoffs. They hope that they’ll be able to win at this competition and represent their region at the World Championship 2017.

The team posted bad results at the LCL Spring Split. They finished in the sixth place and barely avoided being among the teams that will be playing in the relegation tournament. After that, Gambit eSports has concluded that their roster wasn’t good enough, which caused such a drastic move.

High Time for Changes

As said before, the only player that will be staying in Gambit eSports is Danil ‘Diamondprox’ Reshetnikov. He has now become the main player in the team. Besides that, when Diamondprox joined the team in October 2016, the  officials said that they were ready to build their new team with him. Now, they have said almost the same thing. According to them, Diamondprox will be staying on the team. He will actively participate in the search for the new players. Reshetnikov will also  have a huge influence on which players will get the opportunity to play for Gambit Esports.

However, Diamondprox has signed the contract with Gambit eSports that expires at the end of 2017. It will be interesting to see whether Diamondprox will stay with the team that will be built around him or if he’ll decide to move on to some new challenges.
