BGMI was again banned in India in July 2022, only to be officially re-released back on May 29, 2023. At the time of re-release, it was announced that the game would need to undergo a 3 month probation period, which would determine the game’s future of being permanently restored, or permanently banned.
Fans enjoyed a number of tournaments and battle royale passes in BGMI in this 3 month period. The several competitions included the popular LAN event BGMI Masters Series Season 2 and BGIS: The Grind.
It witnessed all of this within the 3 month trial period. It is quite impressive to have been inducted. However, it is safe to say that this is just the start as the 3-month period is successfully over.
Now that the trial period is over, the BGMI community can be happy once again as the three month wait is over. The game will return permanently following its national success and the obvious improvement in security that it showcased over the three months of trial period in the country. The BGMI community had faced issues like trouble logging in. But these have been resolved, and the game will now be permanently restored.
The game was banned by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEiTY) back in 2022 over security and data concerns. However, after long considerations and check-ons, the game was brought back only to be given a 3-month period that would determine its applicability and authenticity in the gaming community in India.
The game has successfully managed to mark over 100 million downloads on Google Play Store ever since its launch.
Just before its official rerelease, Krafton, BGMI’s video game company, had made sure to take every step to make the game friendly. They had taken steps such as setting a play time limit for under-16 players in order to limit addiction, as the game was heavily influencing the youth and a big part of the Indian audience. However, apart from restrictions, BGMI had also achieved massive heights with all the tournaments in the game that took place in only 3 months. They had even made the tournaments on national television to be streamed on one of the largest OTT giants in the country, JioCinema.
Fans are buzzing with anticipation as the game is about to be fully restored after all of this. There will be no worry that the game will be suspended by the government as exciting tournaments, fresh themes, battle royale passes, and other improvements are published.
