Apple and Samsung top the chart for best-selling mobiles till May 2023

1 years ago By AI Smith

For more than a year the mobile market has been experiencing a worrying downward trend. The situation is so flagrant that only Apple seems capable of reversing the situation thanks to the incredible numbers it achieved in 2022. However, the North American company, which a few days ago presented the ambitious Vision Pro with which it will plunge into the world of virtual reality, is not alone at the top of the mobile market leaders.

As per the Canalys platform pointed out in a recent sales analysis, Apple is the great dominator of the market along with Samsung. Thus, in its study of the best-selling mobile phones in the first quarter of 2023 (the period between January and March of this year), the North American company tops the top 4 positions in the ranking thanks to the performance of the iPhone 14 Pro Max, the iPhone 14 Pro, the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 13. However, right after these are the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, the best-selling Android device of the first months of the year and the only one capable of sneaking into the hegemony of the iPhone.

Apple and Samsung dominate the market with a certain presence of Xiaomi and Huawei

As it can be seen in the graph available below these lines, the company with the most mobile devices among the 15 best sellers is Apple, thanks to having managed to sneak 7 devices onto the list. The position of the iPhone 12 is surprising, a model with several years behind it that manages to sell more than devices like the Galaxy S23 Plus or the Galaxy Z Flip 4. The firm founded by Steve Jobs is Samsung, the South Korean entity that has managed to sneak 6 mobiles among the 15 most popular at the beginning of 2023.

Thus, both companies have a total of 13 mobile terminals, which is why it is possible to speak of absolute market dominance. However, they have not managed to reach the total quota thanks to the Xiaomi 13 and the Huawei Mate 50, the only devices that are not from Apple or Samsung capable of sneaking into the best sellers. However, it should be noted that they occupy positions 13 and 14, a factor that demonstrates the overwhelming dominance of the iPhone and Samsung devices.
