6 months ago By AI Smith

As the release date for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (MW3) draws closer, players have had some pressing questions on their mind. The latest edition of the game has been said to release on 10th November 2023. Due to this, fans of the game are wondering if all their vast collection of weapons, skins, limited-edition operators, and many more items will be carried over. The answer to this query is a straightforward yes. The developers have already announced that once MW3 has been launched, a carry-over process would be initiated so that the player base can enjoy all their cosmetics from previous version in the new one. However, there are still a few questions that player’s want answered regarding this process. We’ll be answering a few of them below.

With Modern Warfare 3, Activision aims to create a unified platform for the entire Call of Duty games, by utilizing their 2022 cross-progression system. This means that players will be able to jump from title to title without exiting the game client. Essentially, it is set up as a cohesive Call of Duty ecosystem that will also include future titles in the Call of Duty franchise.

Q1. Which content will be carried over from MW2 to MW3?

If you’re worried that you might have to leave some of your MW2 weapons behind, then we’re here to tell you that there is nothing to worry about. That’s because almost all the weapon camos in MW2 will be carried over to MW3. Players can rest assured that all the skins that they have collected by completing challenges, purchasing bundles, and claiming rewards will be a part of the mega transfer to Modern Warfare 3.

There are a few things to note though. So far, there have been no plans released by the developers to carry back weapons from MW3 to MW2. Another thing is that, if players don’t own a copy of Modern Warfare 2, they won’t be able to carry over their multiplayer exclusive content to Modern Warfare 3. As per the official Call of Duty blog post, it has been mentioned that as long as the player account has the content have been unlocked, it will be carried over to Modern Warfare 3. However, players won’t be able to use the camo on weapons that are released along with the arrival of Modern Warfare 3.

Let’s take a look at the list of content that will be carried over from MW2 to MW3:
