Rockstar Games recently announced the launch of the original Red Dead Redemption game for Nintendo Switch as well as the Sony PlayStation 4. The digital version of the fan favourite game will be available for purchase from August 17. Similarly, the physical edition of the game will go on sale from October 13.
For quite some time, there had been rum ours that the gaming studio was making a remake of the game. However the recent announcement suggests it is just a port and the new version will not feature any new content or updated visuals. Additionally, the Switch and PlayStation 4 versions will also not have the multiplayer aspect of the game.
However, Rockstar will be bundling the Undead Nightmare DLC, which will be unveiled with the Game of the Year edition. This will put Marston against hordes of zombies, and then sets out on a mission to search for a cure.

While PlayStation 5 owners can play Red Dead Redemption because of its backward compatibility with PlayStation 4 titles, the Xbox 360 version of Red Dead Redemption 2 is already playable on the latest Xbox console. However, currently there is no confirmation if Rockstar Games is planning to bring the decade-old classic to PC.
Red Dead Redemption 2 was Originally launched in 2010 on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The plot is set around the events of the critically praised Red Dead Redemption 2 and revolves around the life of John Marston, an outlaw who is out on a journey ‘in the vast expanses of the American West and Mexico to track down the last remaining members of the notorious Van der Linde Gang in a bid to save his family’.

The new Red Dead Redemption will be available for purchase on the Nintendo Switch eShop and PlayStation Store. It will be priced at $49.99 (approx. Rs 4,140).
