Final Fantasy XVI to small pre-launch patch, Game size, players plan & More
The 300MB update will help improve performance and fix some bugs, but producer Naoki Yoshida says the game will be playable without downloading the Final Fantasy XVI.
The role-playing action game has announced in a broadcast focused on the Japanese public that FF XVI will have a pre-launch patch even though a few weeks ago they assured that it would not. Producer Naoki Yoshida has apologized for this 300MB update but says it will be possible to fully enjoy the action RPG on PS5 without it.
The patch “optimizes performance in several places” and fixes issues with progression and crashes, as well as minor bugs in text, according to Twitter user @Dreamboum.
“The report says this update will be available before launch, so if you have the digital version and already downloaded it if you have the PS5 connected to the internet, it will automatically download and be ready on day one so people can play as soon as the unlocked game”, Yoshida said in the mission in the words of Toby Fox, responsible for the localization of the title.

“Also, this is a very small issue, so even if you don’t have the update, you’ll still be able to play the base game.” He concludes: “This is a quick patch, so it’s not necessary to play. If you don’t have an internet connection or can’t download it in time, you’ll still be able to play the game.”
FF XVI was going to be released on two discs
Yoshida has also revealed that Final Fantasy 16 was going to be published on two discs, but six months before the launch, the development team thought that they would be able to publish it on only one, and with effort, they succeeded, they report in Gematsu. Finally, a trailer with a painting style that you can see below has also been published in the digital event.
FF XVI will launch on PS5 next Friday, June 22. The standard edition price of the game is $70. Some physical copies are circulating, so we recommend you be careful in social networks and forums with plot spoilers; Square Enix is investigating how this happened and will try to remove any screenshots or videos posted online.
