What is Sandland? Dragon Ball creator brings a new game, Here is all you need to know
Sand Land, one of Akira Toriyama’s most unknown manga, will have its own video game and will come to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC.
As expected, Bandai Namco published the first trailer for Sand Land during the Summer Game Fest, one of the most unknown works by Akira Toriyama that now receives its adventure in the video game industry. A priori, if one has never come close to this product, it seems like a mix between Mad Max and Dragon Ball with fantastic touches full of monstrous creatures.
Sand Land was published in the year 2000 (from May 22 to August 28) through the weekly magazine Weekly Shonen Jump. The story puts us in the perspective of Rao, a bailiff who sets out on a journey to find the “Ghost Lake”. To do this, he has the help of allies such as Thief or Beelzebub, who will lend him a hand to face the King’s Army while, little by little, the origin of the drought that devastates his lands is discovered.

The trailer presented, which is quite complete, allows you to take a look at both the artistic section and the gameplay itself. The latter is probably what is most interesting because, after all, we are here to put ourselves under the control of the characters in question. The Sand Land adventure combines extensive exploration of different areas, having a gigantic desert area where we can wander with our protagonists, whatever vehicle it is.
In addition, there will also be melee action and also stealth phases where you will have to assault enemy bases. The dynamics of the car fights are somewhat reminiscent of Batman Arkham: Knight, with the Batmobile moving from left to right and releasing missiles everywhere.
Sand Land is scheduled to be released for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, but we don’t know an exact date yet. “In a desert world where demons and humans suffer from extreme water shortages, Beelzebub, the Demon Prince, and Rao, a small town sheriff, team up and go on an adventure in search of a hidden water source.” reads the official synopsis.
