Finding new esports champions is the entertaining, cool, and futuristic Taiwan Excellence Gaming Cup (TEGC) 2023’s return to India. The TEGC, the longest-running esports competition in India, will celebrate its tenth anniversary in 2023, and the festivities have been promised to be bigger, better, and bolder. At a special press conference held at the Four Seasons, Worli, Mumbai, Taiwan Excellence (TE) revealed information regarding the elimination rounds, the grand finale, and other intriguing facets of the sought-after championship.

Taiwan Excellence Gaming Cup (TEGC) 2023 Returns to Crown India’s New Champions

This year’s competition will unite all former TEGC champions from India on one platform for the first time. The event will also be livestreamed by TEGC in collaboration with top tech influencers, and it will be accessible on the TE YouTube account. During the occasion, a brand-new website was presented, announcing the start of TEGC registration for players with a variety of intriguing prizes up for grabs in the grand finale.

Taiwan Excellence Gaming Cup 2023 Date, Time 

Recognising the immense contribution of women in esports, TEGC announced its plans to have an interesting contest between India’s top 10 female gamers. This battle will play out at the same time as the TEGC grand finale scheduled to be held in November. 

It is speculated that Taiwan Excellence Gaming Cup 2023 will be held virtually between 28th September 2023 to 22nd October 2023. This will be followed by live in person finals in November 2023.

Taiwan Excellence Gaming Cup 2023 Venue

The venue for the Taiwan Excellence Gaming Cup 2023 finals has not been decided or revealed. The organisers will soon announce the venue for the event. 

However, TEGC 2023 will be promoted at a number of college and gaming conventions where attendees will have the opportunity to interact with Made in Taiwan goods in person throughout the convention. In a further first, TEGC will collaborate with an NGO that aids underprivileged children as part of its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The collaboration will give the youngsters the chance to have a great time while playing instructional games, connecting with famous gamers, and learning the value of sports to their overall development.

Many Indian e-sports fans’ gaming careers have been launched by TEGC over the years. Many TEGC champions and competitors have represented India at international gaming competitions, triumphing for the nation. India’s gaming market is predicted to increase from USD 3.02 billion in 2023 to USD 6.26 billion by 2028, a CAGR of 15.68% during that time period, according to a report by Mordor Intelligence.

Mr. Poyi Edison Hsu, Director of Taipei World Trade Centre Liaison Office in Mumbai (TAITRA – Mumbai) commented, “Esports is not just about gaming, it is a passion, a career, and a way of life for some of the brightest minds in this country,”.

“From 500 participants at its debut, the TEGC has come a long way with the 10th edition expected to have over 25,000 young Indian gamers battling it out to be the champion,” he added.

He further said that TEGC’s 10th edition is ‘extra special’, saying, “To celebrate 10 years of TEGC, the grand finale will see all former TEGC champions on one platform. For the first time, the TEGC finale will also have a special event to acknowledge women power in esports with India’s top 10 women gamers showcasing their gaming prowess.”

Similarly, talking about the future of esports in the country, Mr. Edison said, “India’s demographic advantage, growing IT infrastructure, and resultant internet and smartphone penetration augurs well for the future of the gaming industry.”

Additionally, the event offers visitors and gamers the ability to learn more about Taiwan’s powerful gaming hardware and accessories. Leading companies including AORUS, AROMASE, CyberPower, D-Link, MSI, Predator, Republic of Gamers, Thermaltake, VICTOR, and Zyxel among others showcased their greatest goods throughout the event.
