5 Horror/Haunted Games Coming Soon To Nintendo Switch In 2023
Possibly most of you still do not know me very well, but to change this, we will tell you that we like horror/haunted video games the reality is that it is also the film genre that we consume the most, so perhaps it would be more accurate say that it is one of my favourite genres in general. With this in mind, today we propose to tell you about five horror video games that will soon arrive on Nintendo Switch, so that, in case you are lovers of the genre as well as a server, you will know some promising releases for the Nintendo hybrid. SCP: Secret Files
Developed by Chinese studio GameZoo and published by publisher Pixmain, SCP: Secret Files is described as “a collection of supernatural tales based on one of the Internet’s best-known collaborative works of fiction.”
So, in this game that will delight Creepypasta fans and SCP (Secure, Contain, Protect, acronyms that give their name to the fictitious organization dedicated to the investigation of paranormal phenomena) enthusiasts, we will assume the role of a newly hired SCP agent with direct access to the bizarre world of the SCP Foundation, a shadowy fictional organization that seeks to secure and contain paranormal anomalies to protect the world from their influence. There are currently five unique stories available, each with its twist, style, and SCP case study to unravel and experience. The self-styled purpose of the Foundation is“fight in the dark so you can live in the light”, a motto this video game brings to life through immersive storytelling and supernatural threats.
The Bridge Curse Road to Salvation
Developed by SOFTSTAR ENTERTAINMENT and published by the publisher Eastasiasoft Limited, The Bridge Curse Road to Salvation is the adaptation of a horror movie ( The Bridge Curse or El Puente Maldito in Spanish, which can also be seen on Netflix), which in turn is Inspired by a Taiwanese urban legend with a story with an intriguing background.
The Bridge Curse: Road to Salvation is a first-person psychological survival horror game revolving around six college friends who put a well-known urban legend to the test and end up awakening a curse none of them knows how to break. It will be up to us to take on the role of these friends and help them find a way to survive the night while being haunted by a vengeful ghost. The stealthy will become our best asset to prevent the murderous ghost from tracking us, while we try to piece together the mystery of the curse and find a way to get out of campus. Will these poor devils survive?
Spirit Hunter: Death Mark II
The third and final instalment in the Spirit Hunter horror visual novel series, Spirit Hunter: Death Mark II, directed by Motoya Ataka, developed by Experience Inc and distributed by Aksys Games, is coming to Western Nintendo Switches this year.
The story takes place in a suburb of Tokyo and follows Kazuo Yashiki, who is hired to infiltrate the private school “Konoehara Academy”, a strange place where rumours circulate that every 10 years, it is filled with the dead who seem to be part of it. of a kind of curse, which often leads to horrific incidents, such as the death of a student in “strange circumstances.” So, the director hires our protagonist as a teacher to investigate the terrible spiritual incidents that occur there every ten years.
Dark Deception, the game developed and published by Glowstick Entertainment, is a creepy and fun maze-adventure horror game that has become hugely popular since its original release on Steam in 2018.
Fight and make your way through horrifying mazes to change your destiny in this mix between the classic Pac-Man mechanics and a horror title in which you will have to run for your life, just like in the Pac-Man proposal. During each phase, you will have to collect various fragments while being chased by demonic entities (animatronics or girls with very long claws, for example) in this adrenaline-pumping arcade survival action experience, which thanks to its atmosphere will send chills down your spine. That being said, the game currently has four chapters and a fifth is already in development.
Depths of Sanity
Depths of Sanity, the game developed and distributed by Bomb Shelter Games, is a kind of Metroidvania with a clear Lovecraftian inspiration whose main differentiating element is that it takes place directly on the seabed.
