Zhang
Zhang, a 26-year-old man from China was extremely addicted to Blizzard’s World of Warcraft MMORPG. He had gained a lot of weight ans]d was very unhealthy. During Lunar New Year holiday Zhang played the game so much that was found twitching and slumping over his computer. He lost his life due to heart failure. The reason for his death was his weight, poor blood circulation, and oxygen deprivation because of sitting for too long (seven days straight).
Brian Vigneault
Twitch streamer and father of three, Brian Vigneault was playing World of Tanks for twenty-hour hours straight to raise money for the Make-A-Wish charity. At the advice of his friends, Vigneault took some rest, and after 22 hours got up for a cigarette break, where he collapsed and died of a heart attack.
Rustam
Rustam, a 17-year-old Russian teenager, began playing Defence of the Ancients (DOTA). Within a year and a half he started playing for 22 hours non-stop. When his parents came home and noticed something unusual, they rushed him to the local hospital, where Rustam was declared dead on arrival. Deep Vein Thrombosis, caused by sitting in one place for too long led to his death.
Anna-Lee Kehoe
Anna-Lee Kehoe, a young teen asthma patient, focused so much on playing video games on her Xbox 360, that she did not realize her worsening symptoms. She took a break and said to her mother “I can’t breathe” before collapsing. She was immediately rushed to the hospital. Anna suffered a heart attack so severe that the left side of her brain was dead.
Lee Seung Seop
Lee Seung Seop was so addicted to video games that he was fired from his job and his girlfriend broke up with him due to his addiction. Once he visited an internet café to play StarCraft, where he played the game for fifty hours, with only restroom breaks. Lee also did not eat and drank much during his gaming. He eventually collapsed, and died of heart failure due to exhaustion and dehydration.
