4 Counter-Strike Legends That Could Make A Comeback For CS2

1 years ago By AI Smith

It should come as no surprise that, over the years, Counter-Strike 2 has featured a plethora of famous players given how long the game has been around. Many of the top players from that era made the transition to CS:GO starting with version 1.6 and remained there for many years. Some athletes have made the decision to retire permanently from the competitive scene, while others have moved into teaching roles or even started their own businesses.

Many players anticipate that some of the old-school superstars may make a comeback to the professional scene now that Valve is preparing to release Counter-Strike 2. It’s doubtful that you will see some of the names you are about to see again because they haven’t been active in years. Others, though, have continued to play informally and even make an income via live streaming. Thus, it might only be a matter of time before the Counter-Strike legends resume their CS 2 careers.

4 Counter-Strike Legends That Could Make A Comeback For CS2

Here are of the Counter-Strike legends that could make a comeback in CS2.

f0rest

None other than f0rest is the first participant that everyone of us would love to watch in action once more. Due to his reputation as one of the best in the world, we can be quite certain that any Counter-Strike player over the years is familiar with f0rest. He has unquestionably contributed to the mystique of Counter-Strike since the game’s inception in 2003.

f0rest was incredibly successful in CS:GO even though the majority of people will only remember him for his CS 1.6 accomplishments. With Ninjas in Pyjamas, he competed for more than eight years and won almost every competition. The Swedish superstar joined Dignitas in 2020 and played there for an additional two years after departing the team. Unfortunately, he has been on the inactive roster since mid-2022.

The fascinating thing about f0rest is that he never actually stopped playing because he started working full-time as a Twitch streamer. The Swedish living icon declared a few weeks back that he would be delighted to return to the professional CS scene. He hasn’t been given another chance to play, though. In other words, the athlete must wait to see if a specific team will wish to invite him to participate.

We can understand why some teams would want f0rest on their team given that he is one of the surviving Counter-Strike legends and that he has been there for a very long time. We are excited to watch him play in Counter-Strike 2 because he is one of the best shooters in the world.

Filip “NEO” Kubski

NEO is a name that usually comes up when discussing legendary Counter-Strike players and aimers. It goes without saying that the Polish player is among the top players in the world, and he has demonstrated this on numerous occasions over the past more than 23 years.

Neo started his astounding career in 2000 when he joined the STER-Prokekt squad. Through the years, NEO was a member of numerous elite CS 1.6 teams, including the illustrious Meet Your Makers.

Filip participated in CSGO matches for both HONORIS and the Virtus.Pro connections. In actuality, he spent approximately 7 months with this team as a player before being switched to the Substitute role.

NEO has served as interim coach for FaZe Clan since July 2023, but given that he was active recently, we anticipate seeing this Counter-Strike legend return for CS2. He was seen playing the game a few months ago with people like TaZ, GeT_RiGhT, and other well-known CS players, which is encouraging. There is no denying that NEO has a lot to offer, thus we look forward to seeing the elite player back where he belongs.

Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund

Of course, it would be impossible to not include GeT_RiGhT on a list of Counter-Strike icons that we would like to see in CS2. For good reason, the Swedish star has always been regarded as one of the franchise’s symbols.

Even though he began his career in 2007 (nearly 7 years after NEO), he advanced to the top quite swiftly. In the course of his career, GeT_RiGhT represented all of the biggest CS:GO teams, including SK Gaming, Fnatic, and Ninjas in Pyjamas. Like f0rest, he was a member of the club for a long time before switching to Dignitas.

GeT_RiGhT has been a streamer for the group on a formal basis since August of 2022, which indicates that he is taking part sporadically. But given that Christopher has frequently stated that he would be delighted to return to action, we anticipate this will alter with the release of CS 2.

It’s safe to assume that GeT_RiGhT and f0rest returning to the game and participating under the same flag will make all CS 2 fans very happy. The outcome will be interesting to see even if it is unlikely that this will occur.

Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer Gustafsson

The final player on the list who we believe might return for Counter-Strike 2 is olofmeister. He created a name for himself in CS:GO when he joined H2k, unlike the other Counter-Strike legends mentioned so far. The majority of people will, however, remember him for his time with Fnatic and FaZe Clan.

FaZe Clan is interesting because he went inactive five times in total, the last time being in January 2022. Fnatic and FaZe Clan were among the top teams in the world during his prime and took home nearly every Counter-Strike championship.

Olofmeister is the kind of athlete who takes his work seriously. Because of this, if he decides to return to CS 2, he will either choose to play for a brand-new team or a group that has been around for a while. Nevertheless, we do not know if he would be interested in joining Counter-Strike 2, so we will just have to wait and see.

Nonetheless it will be interesting to see which pros CS2 is able to bring back to the game. Meanwhile CS2 has been enjoying some great reviews as players have been enjoying the game extensively.
